We had a brilliant help yourself carvery meal here. There is a large, free car park outside, lovely homely vibe inside and the staff were friendly and helpful. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and everything looked clean and well kept. The prices are reasonable and the food was very nice. I would happily return.

Absolutely brilliant place! Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food and atmosphere. Have been here before and will definitely be visiting again. I live 200 miles away in Cornwall, but have family living here in Hayling. I love to visit them AND the Barley Mow!!

Quite a large restaurant offering that cheap food stacked high! We were in the area for a couple of days and popped in twice for their breakfast, which is great value for money. ÂŁ5.49 I think and you get a full English, all you can eat self-serve. Sausages, beans, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, fried bread, hash browns, black pudding and waffles. Oddly mushrooms are extra... maybe they're hard to come by in that neck of the woods!!

We came to the Barley Mow as a family with two (very fussy) kids aged 7 and 10. In many ways it is a simple venue and basic pub grub on the menu..... and it was just what we needed. It had a relaxed atmosphere which was welcoming to our cheeky kids. They had pizza and they loved watching the lovely chap making them and he was an absolute star. He explained to them what he was doing and then to my daughter's delight he set out the pizza and a bowl of cheese on the bar for her to put on her own cheese. Kids were quite anxious before going out as they were worried they wouldn't find things they like. To the contrary they ate the lot. Us parents had a vegan nut roast and fish n chips and it was good quality and tasty. Vegan options are clearly laid out but sadly no non dairy milks were available for my coffee. I have given an overall 4* for the food but would give 5* for the staff who were so warm and friendly. Little did they realise how this alleviated my kids' anxiety and i can't thank them enough for that. Timings were a bit off here n there but overall the meal was such good value and enjoyable.

Enjoyed a pint and a bite to eat here on a Tuesday early evening, so it was not too busy - but expect it is in the warmer months.Carvery looks great. Lots of space, sport on the TV and well-located. What's not to like..?!

Not the sort of place we usually go, but we all liked it. Hearty meals were very good value. Menus were a bit sticky, table not spotlessly clean, carpets were grimy, but it did a good job. Hot tasty food that you order from the bar, although there was a group of us, not all meals came out together. If you are feeding a crowd it's not a bad bet.

My partner and I love going there after a visit to Hayling Island, because of COVID we have not been here for a while. Yesterday we felt the carvery food was not up to their previous good and usual standard, the meat was very dry and carved sparingly, some of the veggie options were over- cooked & left out too long. The highchair option was too small for our 2 yr old granddaughter and did not offer booster seat. The staff were lovely and helpful, the amenities were very clean. I do recommend the Barley mow.

My son took me to The Barley Mow this morning.Excellent value for money, delicious food and lovely staff. Sam on the bar and Dom the chef were more than happy to talk to us about the pub, the island and shared a joke or two.A fantastic way to make customers feel welcome. My son has promised a return visit for the fantastic looking pizzas and a bottle of wine over the weekend. We are looking forward to getting to getting to know everyone there

We got here expecting a nice family meal unfortunately we didn’t have that experience, the food was sat waiting for service for a minimum of 5-10 mins before it was brought across and when it did arrive one meal had the wrong peas on it and my daughter’s beans were 99% juice with minimum beans, also food wasn’t hot. The chefs arguing with each other and a waitress although funny and entertaining should not be happening when they are customer facing
