Royal Oak in Havant

Beautiful traditional pub in an amazing setting with gorgeous views...Had the traditional Sunday roast which was delicious.Staff friendly and attentive.Will definitely recommend and go again if in the area.

Dog friendly. Warm welcome with roaring fire. Nice beers and friendly staff. The food sounded good on the menu and looked good on other people's plates. However our orders of specialty cod and specialty sea bass was very underwelming and far from what I'd describe as special.. Also word of warning the parking was poor and on street only..

Always loved this pub, beautiful location and great pub garden, but it seems they serve food whenever they fancy. Both the website and the menus say they serve food from 12am right through to end of service, but twice I've been and been told they aren't serving food again until 5. They seem to stop around 2:30 pm.I totally understand if the Chefs need a break, but this needs to be reflected in the hours on the website and menu as I traveled (10 minute drive, 15 minute walk) to this pub spesifically to eat as it said online they were serving. After 10 minutes browsing the menu I was told that they aren't serving food and never are at that time of day in spite of the fact the menu in my had said they should be. I ended up having to leave and go elsewhere.Otherwise though, as long as they happen to be serving food when you are there it is a lovely experience.

Had a lovely walk from Hayling and came across this lovely pub as we walked in we was greeted by friendly staff so ordered drinks and sat in front of a open fire . Then ordered the trio of meats roast and mushroom wellington the food was cooked just right not overdone …the staff check on us to make sure we didn’t need anything…..the food was good value for money and there was a assortment of beers and lagers the puddings where to die for and after 2 hours came away from pub full and merry and a big thank you to carol and her staff .for making it a pleasant experience thank you

A lovely Sunday roast here today. I cheekily asked for the table by the fire in my booking…not really expecting to get it….and that’s what we got!….lovely view and meal. Staff very friendly, service great. And excellent value.

Fantastic pub. Beautiful location over the water and island. Great choice of food and drinks. Lunch was reasonably priced and good portions too. The service was slick and friendly. Dog friendly too.

Just had an amazing night at the Royal Oak pub food was amazing. Thanks to staff and land Lady Carol who very quickly resolved an issue with a very challenging customer who was shouting at the staff for doing their job and refusing to serve a lady who was very drunk. This could have easily escalated but due to the the action form the staff team incident was resolved and didn’t spoil the night. Well done to the staff team at the Royal Oak.

I used to live next-door to this lovely pub. The perfect spot for an end of walk pint. Sadly the heart and soul of the pub has been lacking in recent years. The staff and food which was once great have lost their shine. Worth a visit for the views and a drink but personally wouldn't eat here.

Friendly staff who were accommodating. Garden needs a tidy up really. Unfortunately the food was a bit hit and miss (burger good, chicken burger batter a bit over done, as was the steak) and took quite a while between starter to mains. Shame, as it's a lovely spot and nice looking pub.

My 2 friends and I spent a lovely Friday afternoon sitting in the garden area enjoying a tasty fish and chip lunch. This is a beautiful old pub in a lovely sea front setting. The service was good, food delicious and the sun shone!! Hope to visit again when visiting this area.
