Excellent service and friendly staff make for a great meal or drink on any occasion. My friends and I are now regulars x

Booked for lunch on 13th March, it was absolutely terrible. The pub is dirty, there was only two beers on the rest of the taps were shut down. The toilets are dirty with cracked sink and sticky floor. There was nobody behind the bar for much of the time with long waits. Staff were sitting at tables in the restaurant when they should have been serving. There was a management meeting for the pub going on in the restaurant while we were eating. The pub smells of dogs. The food was no good, they forgot the parsnips, they had run out of cabbage and we were not offered an alternative, the gravy was not beef gravy to go with the meat it was a universal gravy. Will not be going back any time soon.

The food was very nice but a little over-priced and took a little longer to be served than I expected. All staff were pleasant. Food and drinks were served with a smile.

We visited the Woodpecker for lunch. When placing our order we were advised that service would be slower than normal due to staff shortages. We ordered our food and drink and sat at a table.1 hour later we were still waiting. Our order wasn't complicated. Fish and chips for myself and Lasagne for my guest.Whilst waiting for our food I did notice food delivery drivers collecting food. It seemed that service had been streamlined for them as they weren't waiting.I did find this frustrating and it spoilt the experience for me.Until this issue is fixed I shan't be using or recommending this venue again.Staff were apologetic, but an hour is an unreasonable wait. The food wasn't anything special. Well below the usual standard for this venue.

Ordered take away on just eat for first time tonight. Ordered hunters chicken with side orders garlic bread and onion rings. Chicken was very chargrilled that it tasted burnt, hardly any bbq sauce the whole thing was tasteless. Chips were okay. Garlic bread was burnt could hardly eat any of it. The only thing that was nice was the onion rings. The whole dinner was lukewarm and most of it ended up in the bin. Very disappointed wouldn’t advise ordering take away

Found pub by chance, late lunch as we were very hungry. Approx 3pm.Typical pub grub, nice to have vegetarian toad in the hole, very good.My partner had chicken burger, again good, only comment it could have been a bit hotter.sensible size portions and good value.Classic chain pub inside, nothing not to like, would visit again.

We had a lovely experience. The food and drinks were great. Our server Ed was very welcoming, helpful and ensured that we were enjoying our food. Great place, will definitely go again.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't have to wait very long for our food which was delicious. We ordered from the lunchtime menu and the portion sizes were perfect to fill you up without feeling bloated. My grandmother particularly enjoyed the coffee. The main reason we chose to eat here was that it is dog friendly and we viewed it as a bit of an experiment but it was so successful we will definitely be going back.

1st visit in years. Sat with no problems, plenty of tables to chose from being a week day. Ordered food and drinks from the bar. Meals came out very quickly. Lovely main meal of hunters chicken followed by a delicious syrup pudding with custard. Very good value for money with lots of choice.

Delicious Sunday lunch, great quality of meat, lovely seasonal veg and great portions. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend the trio of meats, my partner had the Turkey and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Looking forward to eating here again.
