When this place was The Village Chippy it was poor, then it changed to Atlantikos and was much improved. Now as Sams its better than ever ! Had cod & chips yesterday and couldn't fault it. This is by far the best Fish and Chips shop in the area - Highly reccomended

Update! I had fish and chips the other day, and what can I say! It was amazing the fish π was juicy, flaky and massive and was very tasty, the chips π were brilliant and very tasty a total 5β meal. But in my humble opinion the chips could do with an extra minute or two just to make them a little darker as well as the fish, with the fish though its cooked to order I think a few minutes in the warmer would be a gd idea, but a great meal overall.I've not been here since it changed hands and had it refit and changed it's name to atlantikos! I just had a bacon π₯ egg π₯and mushroom π burger π and small chips π and it was bloody amazing π 5 π for it. The burger was a home made pattie (I think) as it didn't feel like it had any filler to it, it was very meaty and very tasty, the chips were very good and a small portion was plenty for me and I just only managed to eat it all. π if you're only passing pop in a grab something you will not regret it. And the prices are very reasonable.

I am very critical when it comes to fish and chips. Some places can be pretty poor and very disappointing but this place is excellent. I ordered a large haddock, large cod, large chips and a curry sauce. The order took about 15 mins which is more than reasonable considering the place was busy when I visited. On this occasion we had to wait outside, as this fish and chip shop isn't that big inside. So factor that in, if you do decide to go and get fish and chips here, especially if it is cold outside. The whole order cost about Β£19, which is a little over the average price of this meal but well worth it when you get your order. Both the cod and haddock were huge pieces of fish. The fish beautifully white and flaky, all wrapped up in a light crispy batter and tasted really good. The chips were really nice and a real decent portion too and the curry sauce was a winner. Overall this was a lot of food and easily fed two of us.I don't know what the other items on the Menu are like but based on the fish and chips, I would imagine very tasty.A must go to place for fish and chips in this area.

This has recently been refurbished. Was formerly a bit grotty (as it had been for 30 years). Is now clean & pleasant! Chips are reliably good and staff are good. Chip portion size seems to be shrinking slightly over my three visits, but they were admittedly too large to start with.

Loved when it was Atlantikos, sadly not to the same standard of food being the new Sams'. Disappointed that last owners left so quickly, alot of their customers agreed when waiting outside f SAMS that it is not as good.

Heard about the NEW owner not willing to replace a burger for chips that were not edible and a forgotten drink. My experience was the same. Really bad chips and rude owner. Manager is a nice lady, but the owner really has no clue. He has upset too many people already. Bad business. Avoid!!!When a mistake is made by the owner then it will for sure cost you money to rectify. Never not replace food that YOU are responsible for selling.
