Bax Castle in Horsham

Parked in southwater and walked the downslink to the Bax castle. Great pub with some lovely food, good gin selection. Really good outside area for the kids with several bouncy castles.

Visited for the first time last week ...Great food friendly staff and good value will be back to visit again soon ( Try the pizzas there are great )

Beer garden is amazing, we had a lovely time and the kids were thoroughly entertained. Only downside was not being able to order outside. Couldn't leave kids outside to go in and they didn't want to leave the bouncy castle area. Think you are missing a trick! An app or a runner would have been great. Wireless card machine is easily the answer!

First visit good, only had nachos and drinks, nice place, nachos were great, very hot!! Seemed very busy, can only be a good sign, will go again.

Bax Castle has a great out door area for the kids. When I went, it had 3 different inflatable activities and an area for the adults. A nice pizza oven and pub food. Always a great place for food and service!

Very friendly welcome and superb service. Lunch was absolutely fantastic. Hot Nachos were great. Dog friendly as well.

If you want to book a special party event here, I would absolutely AVOID!I read multiple reviews, saying how accommodating this pub was, but in my experience, they have been nothing but awful.I enquired weeks ago, for a 40th birthday hire, and was originally told this should hopefully be fine, and I was asked to come in to see the venue, which I did. However, whilst I was there, I was told that they might not be able to hire the outside space I had requested, and the owner Dave, who was the only person apparently who could decide this, would be in contact with me. I was really keen to host it at Bax Castle, and was really explicit with them that I wanted my birthday to be special after the last couple of years, and I didn't want to miss out on other venues, but this was my first choice. I was promised that Dave would be in contact within a couple of days.Multiple calls (Over 5) and weeks later, I was told the same thing over and over again, that Dave would get back to me in the next couple of days. This never happened.Weeks passed, and in the end, I got so saddened by the whole thing, it started affecting my state of mind on my birthday at all - I felt completely ghosted and lied to. At no point has anyone explained why Dave has not called me at any point, despite multiple assurances he would be.Luckily, on Friday, after yet another call where I was told Dave would call me (which he hasn't) I talked myself into finding another venue, and luckily I have found somewhere that is brilliant and couldn't do enough to help.I've been to the Bax for a drink, and its great for that. But as a place to put your trust in for a special occasion, my advice unfortunately is that you should think again - no one should be treated as I have been.

1st time.. lovely glass of wine, stopped food at 7.45 so didn't eat. I'm not a cat person!! Nice to see the Morris dancers though.

After a disappointing roast last weekend at another place this was super, decent portions properly cooked as much veggies as you want and lovely staff. A very nice beer too, probably my last meal out before jetting off again and great one to finish on.
