BEST WESTERN Old Tollgate Restaurant in Horsham

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. We stayed for two days as a family (12 people) with our dog. The room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was brand new. The evening meal (carvery) was excellent and the catered lunch we had was fresh and varied. The desserts at dinner are incredible (leave space for them). The biggest stand out was the staff, EVERYONE we engaged with was super friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make the stay really enjoyable. The staff should be celebrated here, they did an amazing job.

I love this place. Nice meal and beautiful warm big rooms. Just don't know why UK hotels don't give bottle water as complementary.

Here for a two night stay. Just had a superb carvery. The room is really clean and smells gorgeous. The bed is by far the most comfortable bed I have ever felt. Lying on a cloud is an understatement.

As a family we have been coming to the Tollgate for 40 years plus, always been good food, good service and a lovely atmosphere. Sad to say that has all changed, the last visit was poor but we gave it another chance and took a party of around 20 for a meal today. Atmosphere very uncomfortable with a manageress who treated us like naughty children, potatoes were reheated it seemed umpteen times, waitresses who had no clue what was on offer, food ran out.. I did try and give constructive feedback to the manageress but she rounded on me and claimed some of our party were laughing so the waitresses were too upset to help us! Sad after all this time for the Tollgate to lose customers who spend thousands there every year.

Staff very polite, though we felt some tension between the chef and manager. The food was a mixed bag, I had salmon with herb & tom sauce which was lovely. The roast potatoes had been reheated and like leather - couldn't cut them. The cauliflower in the cheese sauce was brown and not nice. My son had roast beef which was cooked to perfection. Lunch time menu £15/each for main course.

We had a lovely over night stay with an evening meal and breakfast, the staff were so welcoming and friendly nothing was to much trouble for them, when we arrived we was hungry and the receptionist went out of her way for us to have something to eat, the rooms are very nice and clean including the bathroom, would recommend will be going back thank you everyone for a lovely stay from Mr Mrs clements

Much quieter than other year's. We been going to the old tollgate restaurant for many years on boxing day. Always been a great treat.last year was not open due to covid and today its definitely taken it's toll. Noticed a big difference. Over priced.

I went to the Old Tollgate restaurant, not the Hotel. Over the years I have always found the staff very pleasant. For the first course you go to the serving area and help yourself, the same applies for the desert. The Chef serves up your choice for the main course, you then make the choice of vegetables. You return to your table and the Waiter/ tress brings your meal to enjoy. I like this method because you choose what you want. Excellent!!

We spend amazing days during your staying in the Tollgate hotel. It couldn't be better. Highlighting the incredible and distinguish food, the staff were so polite and attentive. All, surrounding in a familiar and cozy place

I went here on Christmas Eve 2021 for lunch. The fixed price for 3 courses (main course was a roast from the carvery) was £25. The selection of starters (all cold) was very good as was the choice of roast meats. The chef, whilst generous with the meat was not overly so which was a good thing as the main course was quite large. The one part of the meal that was disappointing was the dessert. Firstly, in comparison to previous years, I thought there was less to choose from and secondly some of the dishes were not being replenished, even though kitchen staff were walking past all the time. That said, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for you.All in all my group (of which there were 6) thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
