Just stunning, so much history, incredible location. Interior just spot on except the artificial flowers in the ladies toilet (terrible).Service was fast and good. Both waitress and the waiter was nice and friendly.Food was just excellent as the pub itself.Worth the visit.Definitely I will go back.

Very nice pub with tasty roast dinners. Good service and ambiance. The roast beef was very nicely cooked, but one more slice would have been nice.

What a lovely, cosy pub! Just had dinner here on a cold November night, crackling fire, fantastic Long Man and Dark Star beers…and wonderful food. Definitely a great find and I look forward to returning to try the rest of the menu. Really friendly, happy team working here too!

Nice choice of food, good variety & every fish came out hot & fresh. We did feel that the outside could do with a good sweep & a little tlc, outdoor furniture looking tired & I didn't want to put my handbag on the floor as it was very grubby. Other than that the food & drink was very good so it made up for it. The sun was shining too & all the staff very friendly & helpful. Would recommend

Lovely country pub, beautiful setting and friendly, attentive staff. Food was great, including really, really good chips (and great homemade tartar sauce), especially excellent pies and delicious puddings too - crumble and cheesecake extra recommended.

Very friendly staff and a great choice of good quality food. Could do with a slightly bigger choice of gins but that's personal choice. There are a few tables out the front and a lot more out the back (I feel more relaxed outside in the current climate). Service was quick and with a smile. We'll definitely be going again
