Lovely food. Friendly staff

First off, the food was amazing! Every dish that our party of 8 ordered was really, really good! In terms of service, there seemed to be 3 people working the restaurant, 1 spoke no English and struggled with any sort of communication but was clearly tasked with just clearing away and serving. Another seemed very grumpy, barely smiled and detracted from the service he offered as a result. The other chap however was excellent! He somehow kept track of who had ordered what when serving, went above and beyond to deliver what we asked and was friendly, cheerful and welcoming, it's just a shame that he seemed to be the only one able to give such great service!Overall, 5 star food, 4 stars for service.

Our second visit within a month time. Again, amazing food, friendly service! Little things like free chocolate and complimentary drinks at the end makes a difference. Thank you and will definitely visit again!

Great food my favourite Indian restaurant. Always go there for my birthday. Staff were very helpful with the menu and putting the heating on.

I really like Darchini because there's a cosy atmosphere, the staff are very attentive. They are happy to provide vegan options and so makes it easy for a group to eat together. I love their food. Authentic Indian with a huge menu serving both Indian wine and beer.

For many years I have ordered takeaway from here and the New Curry Centre which are both on London Road. And always it is good quality food. This time a friend and I visited Darchini. We were pointed at a table but being close to the door we asked to move. The waiter pointed at another next to three loud people (the restaurant wasn"t too busy) but we asked for a third cosier away from the cold and noise. A gruff annoyed looking head waiter or manager we assumed pointed at the first table and I said No we want to be away from the cold.Service wasn't great as we couldnt really make ourselves understood without pointing. One waiter came to ask for our drinks but as we started to order, the phone rang and he went and answered it - then disappeared! I was shocked and embarressed for my guest. The food was nice - as good as the takeaway food.Finally the bill - we asked to split it and the waiter rounded it up to easy split 2 ways. It wasn't much but shouldn't have happened. A larger group would have lost more. We took that as their tip and left nothing else.Dissappointed after years of high service from the take away people.
