Deep Blue Restaurants in Horsham

Big fat crispy chips, crispy fish, soft in the middle and the correct chip shop curry sauce. Very little grease, and served in a box which kept everything perfect. What's not to like? I did have to walk 30 seconds away to get a ginger beer, but that's on me.

Been going here for years but last 3 visits the food has been so under par! I phoned to ask if Paul had left and was told YES! oh boy does it show in thecooking and management!!! Scampi looked like it had been char grilled, plaice and cod both completly dried out, chips were full of chats and all tony the new manager could say was sorry I will tell the cook!Sad to say after all these years and going every week sometimes twice a week I won't be going again!Come back paul

Excellent fish and chips as always. We haven't been for a year or so and notice that they offer a reduced menu but still the old favourites. The prices have (naturally) increased in that time. The Seniors lunch is just the right size though and the mushy peas were actually tasty!! A good cuppa and clean toilets. Always our lunch choice when in Horsham.

One of my shoddy 10p Boots bags split and my cone of chips went everywhere. They gave me a new cone, no questions. Excellent service, great food too. Well done 👍

I really wanted it to be so much more than what I received as evidently, based on reviews, it lives up to and even exceeds expectations time and time again, which is why I had such high hopes. Unfortunately I was left shocked and disappointed with my order when it arrived. My total was near enough £35 including delivery fees etc and upon arrival I thought “this must be the wrong order” as it was in two boxes in a brown paper bag, okay fair enough, cut down on packaging, I absolutely agree, but there was hardly any weight to it. I checked through it with my house mate, it was all there.My order consisted of Large chips, Regular Cod (both +salt and vinegar), southern fried chicken Goujons, curry sauce, jumbo Pork sausage in batter and a southern fried chicken burger.The chips were lacking in portion size, salt and vinegar flavour and crunch unfortunately. The cod was buried under the chips and unfortunately had been sweating away in transit so it was soggy and stuck to the paper in the box and again lacked salt and vinegar flavour. The goujons had decent flavour and maintained some crunch but we agreed they were noticeably small for the price point. The curry sauce, I know it can be hit and miss but I WOULD recommend getting it again. The southern fried chicken burger was very disappointing as the fillet was tiny, it had the same coating as the goujons we knew it wasn’t lacking flavour, but the bread to chicken ratio is what let it down. And finally (regarding the food itself) the jumbo pork sausage in batter… this was the absolute highlight for me, the batter… Light, airy and crunchy, not overly greasy, it was everything I was hoping the cod batter would be! and the sausage was delicious. I will note, it wasn’t pressed against anything, and it wasn’t underneath anything so I do believe the cod would have been a hit if it were packaged the same way.I would genuinely order from Deep blue again as the reputation they’ve gained is undoubtedly earned, perhaps under different circumstances as this could’ve been a one off and I would love to have the opportunity to revisit this review and change it or even remove it, but I can only really talk about my experience. I do understand that food sometimes doesn’t travel well which isn’t a fair representation of the quality, but when it costs as much as it did, some more thought when packing the customers order could go a long way.
