The best food we have had during our UK visit! The menu is quite different offering a wide variety of entrees, mains and desserts.

Fantastic food and lovely service. We stopped there randomly but will most certainly come back on purpose!

First time here and probably the last as we were just passing by.... annoyingly, as the place, the staff and the food were great. Very attentive staff and very polite. Lovely old pub and very nice and clean inside. A varied and different menu which is nice to see! Shared starter for 2, 3 soft drinks, 1 wine, 1 Cajun chicken burger and 1 Roast turkey for ÂŁ56. Unfortunately this place is about 50 miles from where we live otherwise we would be regulars.

Iâve never had liver cooked to such perfection. So tender, it didnât need chewing. Roasties with oodles of flavour and crunch. Fresh crunch vegetables. Beautiful sauces. Every plate of food we chose was stunning, bountiful and outstandingly delicious! Thank you so much.

Food was phenomenal! The desserts are a whole experience in themselves. Staff lovely and atmosphere was cosy, fresh and welcoming.

If youâre not a local, skip it. Service made me feel unwelcome. Apparently, I am hard to understand or/and have bad taste. Ordered half pint, got a pint. Server was irritated when I asked about the specials which I couldnât read from where I was seated. Was going to order soup and starter and told that it wouldnât be enough to eat. Encouraged to try ârenownedâ steak and kidney pie, but settled on the fish and chips which were also ârenownedâ. No suitable options for vegans or vegetarians. Encouraged to try a renowned dessert. I rarely eat dessert, but succumbed to pressure and ordered ice cream. Asked for the homemade mince pie ice cream and the server didnât seem to understand me. Sheâll was doubtful it was was on the menu. After pointing to it she said, âwell it seems like something for Christmas,â but she did bring it. It was a lovely presentation with a biscuit. Another server tried to clear it before I got to the biscuit, and when I said I did not want it cleared, she looked at me incredulously then said, âoh your going to eat the biscuit.â The entire time I was in the restaurant there were only two other tables with dinners on a Friday night. So, the ârenownedâ reputation doesnât seem to bring business. The food was very good, but who wants to be treated like a moron throughout a meal?

First time there, just the two of us went as our friends had cancelled. From the very start it was a good experience - a friendly greeting, a nice table and we were settled. Everything we chose was excellent with all elements of the best quality and flavour. Service was just right - friendly but not intrusive and always on cue.We agreed that it was the best eating-out experience we'd had in a long while. We joined the club and have re-booked.

Very, very impressed with the food here, which was excellent. The portions are generous to say the least and beautifully presented. It was busy and we had to wait a bit for our meal but it was worth it. Wait staff were friendly and efficient, despite being so busy. The desserts deserve a special mention. I had the Aussie pavlova which absolutely delicious and HUGE! I think the single one would feed two people and the double would probably feed 4.

Very good local pub with great food! We popped into it after exploring Arundel castle which is only 10-15 minutes away. Friendly staff and nice and cosy vibes welcomed us. We ordered the goat cheese and souffle for appetiser the pork belly and meat pie for the main and the potion was MASSIVE! We couldn't eat everything but enjoyed its representation and indeed the tempting taste đ
