Saturday 7.30pm - apart from just two other diners this very large room was empty. Our waiter informed us "unfortunately, nothing that swims is available!" - that reduced their menu options down by at least 75% - with hindsight we wished we had walked there and then! Our meals did arrive timely, but were at best very average quality and to make matters worse there was no coffee at the end - the waiter apologetically said "the machine had gone missing that night?!!"Last month we did have an excellent Sunday lunch there and because of this were going to book a fairly large family party with them, that's definitely not going to happen now! From our disappointing experience last night my advice is to maybe avoid the evening 'graveyard shift?'

Very popular for Sunday lunch. Great roasts, wonderful soup, lovely desserts. Will come again. Reservations recommended!

Food was good however did not like the extension was too noisy and too big reminded us of a works canteen. Dessert was served with only a spoon a fork should have also been provided and also icream served on a plate with just a spoon I found it difficult to eat. Would I go again ? Maybe but not to eat in the extension. Rather disappointed it was not what we expected from a nice Country Pub.

What a lovely setting to enjoy lunch with friends. It manages to combine the old with the new. Very good food, service and ambience. Look forward to visiting again.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere. We went for a Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. The food was top notch and the staff were lovely. We were there on a cold January day, but I could see what a superb spot it will be in the summer, with lots of outdoor seating, and surround by fields. This is definitely a new favourite for me and my family. With the beautiful new extension in the back, and a much bigger kitchen, I suspect this will be a very popular restaurant, once the word gets out!

What a pub, beautiful refurbished with an amazing dining room out the back, huge selection of beer, food looked really good, I'll be back for dinner.

Lovely family lunch after watching the meet. Lots of people but nice country atmosphere and the old pub is beautiful.

Only stopped in for a drink. Staff very welcoming and the new seating area out the back looks amazing. Will definitely book a table soon to try out the food.

Wow! Absolutely fab! Sumptuous décor! Amazing what you discover down a country lane. Ordered double Silent Pool, with an 'atomizer spray' of citrus over the ice, suggested by barman/person, Noah. Pure drama! I was sold! Hugely recommend the trout with ' treacle' dressing. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Great menu. I shall return repeatedly!
