How pubs should be! Great hosts who really care about quality local beer and food. Such a warm welcoming atmosphere. The menu is perfect for us, you will find the portions very generous and super tasty. Great value for money too. I think this is how pubs used to be, thank goodness Simon and Beth, the owners have kept to their wonderful traditional values. Can't wait till we go again !

A classic old style country pub, the sort of place that will be lost if it's not used. Ever-changing selection of excellent beers and ciders, often local. Food is simple but decent and satisfying. Friendly staff, multiple rooms and winter fires. Dog friendly, too, and tables can be reserved for groups. Traditional rural activities like Wassailing and Morris dancing also.

Best ham egg and chips ever. Always such a nice welcome too. A really good old fashioned pub in the very best way.

Chilli is amazing, especially with the garlic bread to dip in it. Lot's of ales on. Friendly landlord and landlady. Large scruffy beer garden. Perfect pub

First time back here in 20 plus years! There is still a warm welcome awaiting you, with a wonderful array of local beverages on offer too, not forgetting the incredible chilli that is not to be missed!

Excellent Staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 2 not knowing they shut at 2.30. Regardless we were welcomed. Sat inside and had a drink and ordered a second. At this point they realised we were not from the area so advised they were closing shortly but we were welcome to have the drinks and move to thier garden at closing time and stay for as long as we want. Even offered another round if we wanted. At closing time the pub was locked and the owner left saying enjoy yourselves. That is what I call excellent service. Will come back again when we are near by
