We hosted a party for 26 people in the dining area. The staff were exceptional, the food was delicious and we couldn't of asked for a better day. The new addition of the decking is great in the summer to overlook the stunning South downsThank you so much to everyone involved

The brief visit was for lite lunch only consisting of chips and beer. Having visited many hotels/gastro pubs for a 'lite lunch' after a local attraction visit or end of a walk I have been able to distill what I want from a brief visit.Parking - plenty and easy access from a country road (approximately 80 vehicles in the car park).Reception - cheerful and helpfulSelection of beer and cider - many and variedChips - vital ingredient to a lite lunch, option of skinny or chunky and at last a plate of chips worthy of being called a plate size and not the saucer size being offered elsewhere. The restaurant was busy, a function of 150 people was on going and yet the quiet room remained quiet. The venue hosts many events (missed the murder mystery event), live music. The outdoor areas have spectacular views of the South Downs and easy access for wheelchair users.I have already booked a table for Easter lunch within the restaurant, the menu looks interesting.

Service was a little slow to begin with, however when we were shown to table, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were there for afternoon tea, food was really lovely! Would recommend!

Tottington Manor Hotel is a great venue for anyone wanting some peace and quiet situated in a lovely location. With the South Downs staring down at you, the day spent here has been better than I expected. The front of house staff were awesome, Jack, Cat, Olivia and Lewis all deserve a mention. They have been welcoming, attentive and in general nice to be around. A really positive experience where I will definitely come back. Thank you!

Dear Tottington, as I don't seem to be able to respond directly to your reply, lets hope this works. We did comment on the melted sorbet on the day, but generally no we didn't complain....it was Christmas day! I did however respond to you directly via email in response to your request for feedback. Unfortunately you did not respond to that , hence the google review. We are well aware of the reasons for the cost of the dinner, that was never an issue and if you actually read my review you would have seen that I said everything else was good.

We were excited to visit Tottington Manor for Sunday lunch with family. On arrival, we were greeted by the (assumed) Manager, who was very welcoming. As we were five minutes early, he advised our table wasn't quite ready and to take a seat at the bar for a pre-meal drink. Since there is no dedicated seating area, we sat at the bar. Unfortunately, the bar was full to the brim of empty, dirty glasses. We assumed someone would start removing them as we took our seats, but quite the opposite - a waitress arrived and continued to place more trays of dirty glasses in and around us.Minutes later, the rest of our party arrived. We tried to order them a drink - What a shambles! I waited at the near empty bar for almost ten minutes. At one point, I counted eight staff members behind the bar - not one made eye contact or acknowledged us in that time. It genuinely felt chaotic and unwelcoming.Since there is no proper waiting area, we stood at the entrance and an adjoining corridor as, by this point, the bar area was a mess. It wasn't pleasant to see a waitress' visible frustration on several occasions as she struggled to get by with food. I appreciate with us waiting, it didn't make things easy, but where were we meant to go? The layout needs reconsideration.Fast forward 40 minutes, we were still waiting to be seated. I chased the Manager again, only to be informed that the table before were still finishing up. We continued to wait a bit longer, but with no proactive update or courtesy check from the staff, and most of our party still without drinks, we eventually decided to call it a day and head elsewhere. It was very disappointing as the food looked good, but the customer service and staff attentiveness fell well below par.We informed a waitress that we were leaving, and she was very apologetic. I half expected the Manager standing at the bar to pop over and apologise personally. He never did.

Great family meal together. Super friendly service with a good range of food choices. Surprisingly prompt service even though the restaurant was quite busy. Delicious food. Will certainly go back.

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to our room. My wife said the room felt cold and were immediately given an additional heater.I loved the Spa bath and found the room tastefully decorated and the bed soft and inviting. The food was excellent and the staff attentive. We slept well and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast before reluctantly having to leave. The South Downs in this area are stunningly beautiful and this hotel is set in the most picturesque setting.

Very pleasant lunchtime visit. Staff were friendly and helpful. All four of us enjoyed our meals. Large free carpark with only three steps to the entrance. Two rooms available for groups, all facilities are on the ground floor. Recommended.
