First time ordering at Bahar and I would say it’s the best Indian I’ve had in cowes! Ordered a takeaway, arrived before the scheduled time wasn’t cold came very hot still which was great! 10/10 the chicken was so tender literally fell apart really enjoyed it I would definitely order here again!

Absolutely Stunning! We came here for my dad's birthday we got the Kurzi Lamb between 4 of us and it was so good. Each bite was full of incredible flavour and presentation was amazing too. Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We will be returning again

I've just had a delicious meal here. Best nan bread I've tasted - I think they must make it themselves. The mint chicken, on the house specials section of the menu was excellent; it's a dish I've never tried before, but I'm glad I was adventurous.

I try not to give bad reviews however this place needs a thorough review. I always go in with no judgement and then write up a deserved review. So, I visited a few days back with my family and friend's family (party of 8) with children who were all below the age of 8. The first thing that sent alarm bells ringing was that the manager picked a plate up off the floor and placed it back on the table after it fell. Now I was in observation mode! Then when he bought out popadoms for the kids to start, he made a comment that was very confusing for me to hear. I've never heard a restaurant manage to tell customers to be careful with popadoms, as they're crumbly, and not to make a mess. He did add 'please' but that doesn't change a thing. We should have packed up and left at that point, but the kids were hungry. We made a small order for the kids and decided we would stay if our experience improved. Well - the food was enough for us to decide we would rather go hungry. This place can't do Indian food right. I should know, I'm of Indian origin and I eat at various Restraunts so I know what Indian discs taste like. The chicken didn't seem right. Something was off. Maybe it was frozen or maybe it was the way they cooked it but it's not authentic by a long way. If you want a rude experience, bad service, and worse food, look no further! I feel thoroughly get down here and I seriously think this place needs an overhaul in management and kitchen/menu. I won't be returning.

We came from London so were used to good south-Asian food, but this place was definitely amongst the best I’ve been to. All food is prepared fresh to order which is very obvious, and everything from the starters, mains, sauces and bread are amazing. Owners/staff are also very friendly. You would not be disappointed if you’re looking for authentic flavours

The food is okay at best but the owner is very sneaky. He offered us papadom and chutney which we were not going to order. He sounded like he is giving it as a compliment/on the house but ended up charging us £9 for it. When I queried the bill he said that we have to pay for it. £4.50 for just chutney and £4.50 for 6 papadoms is a rip off.

Poor food qualityOrder different dishes but all taste same putting cream on the top of every curry we requested.Serve cold drinks 30 min before the foodOnly reason went there as very little halal options on Isle of Wight.Better to have quality vegetarian food rather then wasting your money there.

Quite a quiet restaurant so staff were very attentive. Considering I was part of a large group the food was good well and was delivered promptly.Portion sizes were decent and they were well priced. Despite getting some of our order wrong I would still recommend Bahar, just remember to bring your own alcohol. You can buy soft drinks.
