The meals were too expensive for the quality of the food. The duck was tough. The pea puree tasteless and the butternut gnocchi had been deep fried. It was also in a tasteless watery "sauce". No vegetables or even side order of veg on menu. I am told the food here used to be good. They also took ages to serve you a drink.

Friends and I had dinner. Fish and chips and cider were delicious! We were not staying there so I can't speak to the rooms.

Fabulous location and the bar staff ( Carol I think ? And the young man working with her , sorry didn't get your name) were lovely. We had intended eating at several places but went back every day. They even remembered our drinks from the previous day and ice cubes for the dog !

I came here with my parents, on their recommendation, as they had been previously with other family members. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was fantastic. We had tasty mains followed by flavoursome ice creams and sorbets. The views are beautiful and a perfect place to rest and enjoy all thatās on offer.

Lovely staff and great food. ordered gluten free food and had a brilliant selection even beer. All there battered items on the menu were gluten free, It was dog friendly aswell and a member of staff even brought water to our dog. I will definitely go back and recommend

The Sunday roast pork was fantastic. But what a shame our table was squeezed in a busy corner, so tight I couldn't even pull my chair out.

The better of the two Chip shops in Totland/Freshwater. Quick service, best chips when cooked from scratch, good portion size

This placeās food and atmosphere has deteriorated. At one point it was a classier gastro pub/restaurant and the food was excellent and the ambience. Something has gone downhill, the staff are sloppy (one waiter in shorts). Ordered two glasses of Sauvignon blanc and got a glass of red and white. Ordered the antipasti and it came without hummus, we queried and they apologised and got something that resembled hummus but wasnāt. The focaccia was just basic olive bread, the butter was in square packets! Not what I would expect from an expensive place and also the butter was from Irelandā¦locally sourced??? I have seen reviews go down and I can see why, the chef needs to go and it needs a shake up.

Wonderful hotel. Best food I've had in ages (although a few more vegan options wouldn't go amiss š). Great experience all round.

I went with my family 4 of us. We had the afternoon tea. So we were told we would have 2 boxes. So it would be afternoon tea for 2 per box. In the end they just brought out one box and a member of staff said they put everything into one box. There was so little for what we paid for. Thankfully we had some vouchers which gave us 50% off so we paid Ā£58 instead of Ā£116. In the box we only had 3 sandwiches cut into 4, 4 scones and we had to share cream and jam which were in the smallest portions, 4 macarons, 2 small doughnuts, 2 chocolate cakes and 4 bitesize cakes. How this warrants the price and also enough for 4 people baffles me. You were only allowed one drink and when I asked for a cappuccino it was frowned upon. I have seen previous afternoon teas that my family have visited and they have sometimes been given loads of food meaning they get given boxes to take food away. Also, there has been silver service. The price for these other afternoon teas has been a lot less. Ā£30 for example. It is safe to say I wouldnāt visit for afternoon tea again, let alone pay the full price. Very disappointed with my visit. The sandwiches were nice tasting though, which was probably the only silver lining to a very dark cloud.
