Nice B&B with lovely food. We ate at the B&B for dinner and breakfast. Both were lovely. Nice location. Free wifi. Lots or parking.Only negative comment is regarding the shower in the Grasmere room. The ceiling is sloped so it's only possible to use it either sitting or kneeling in the bath.

Set in a lovely location, helped by the beautiful weather. Excellent food and drinks selection. Only downside was the shower didn't work (Didn't realise until the morning we were leaving), bedside lamp bulb blown and liquid soap dispenser pump would not work (A new one brought to us). Excellent welcoming staff, would definitely stay again.

Lovely area that this old Inn was located. Service in the evening was not very good, asked twice for the wine, it eventually arrived still corked and with no glasses, soon sorted though. Asked for a 15 min break before ordering a dessert, but no one came back, perhaps just an off night. Breakfast was really good however the coffee was lacking in flavour and just tasted like warm water. Mentioned this when checking out and the lady said they put in 3 heaped spoons in the filter, that explains it. The bedrooms had everything needed for an overnight stay but our door was in need of a paint and light flooded in underneath all night as there was a big gap. On the whole would recommend for a short stay but the Inn needs a bit of updating.

We were staying nearby and booked this for an evening meal. First impressions are, nicely good with a well kept building and gardens and a large green for any kids to play. The waitresses were quite quick to the table to take our order but the meal came just as quick so that was a concern. I ordered a lasagna which had obviously been under a heat lamp all day and should have been binned. My wife ordered a Mexican wrap which also suffered the same fate of tasteless and dry. Other means were a cajun chicken and fish and chips which I understand were decent apparently. they need quality control and raise there standards in the kitchen, this place may be popular due to being in a Holiday region but no excuse for sending out substandard meals. So disappointed.

This pub is in a great location with beautiful views. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the food is AMAZING. Myself and two friends ordered one of each pie on the menu (steak and ale, chicken ham and leek, and cheese and onion) and all of us said it was the best pie we have ever had. We have enjoyed it so much we camped nearby but came to the pub for three consecutive nights over the jubilee weekend and the staff have been great every time. Jubilee party was hilarious too! Cant wait for our next trip here.

We absolutely love visiting the Bower House. Their Sunday roast is incredible and so well priced. Sadly, this time round there was a mistake made when paying our bill and although they were very good and rectified it straight away, it has left me short of quite a bit of money so far for 4 days as the bank processes this. However, the staff are friendly and kind. The food is incredible. The scenery around is spectacular and we will be back 😍

My partner, our dog and I had a lovely stay at the Bower House Inn while hiking through the Lake District. The room was extremely clean and well presented with a good shower in the en suite bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was great too. Would absolutely recommend the Bower House for anyone staying in the area! Also: Please please please bottle the Bower House ale! It is too good not to! 🍻

We visited the Bower House Inn two nights in a row whilst we were staying down the road at parkgate farm. We climbed scafell pike on the Saturday, which is less than half an hour away. This is a lovely pub & restaurant, delicious, home cooked food and drinks, we were made to feel so welcome. We joined the quiz one evening which was brilliant fun. Would definitely recommend visiting here and we would love to come back soon!

Myself and my partner recently enjoyed a 3 night stay here. The pub is a lovely old style country Inn but very modern on the inside. Lots of parking available. We had a double room with an ensuite bathroom. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and there was a good choice of drinks available. Lots of nice walks to do from the pub and other attractions only a short car journey away.
