Comfort food and real ales in a traditional, bare-beamed pub, plus big garden with kids' play area.

We had a fabulous meal here. As a large party (16 of us) they could not have been more helpful. The staff are amazing and the food is out of this world, everyone of us was bowled over by the quality. Well worth a visit.

Great food, amazing selection and a really good and varied vegetarian menu. The child/toddler menu is very inclusive and the food dishes up for the kids is similar to the adults so they look and feel a part of the same dinner. The pub is clean, tidy and well decorated. The staff are really nice and helpful. Can't find a single negative to post.

Nothing to complain about here. The food was fairly typical, OK pub food. Nothing to write home about and nothing exceptional or exciting, but it was perfectly adequate and wouldn't put me off visiting again. The staff were lovely and the young lady who took our order was the smiliest waitress I've seen in a while. All in all a very pleasant lunch on a sunny day out with the family.

Marking down one star due to the initial service. We were seated at 2.30pm and advised there was a call button on each table. Despite a couple of tables waiting to order, it still took fifteen minutes for our order to be taken. Perhaps return to ordering at the bar? The rest of the service after that was great, and the food was lovely. Though could you add a bit more chicken to the chicken fajitas and less cabbage and mangetout?

Average food in a kid friendly pub. The menu is huge which is a bad sign but supports the view of average previously frozen fast food. Surprisingly the chips are poor for somewhere that sells tons a day. The place is expensive for what it is I think. But you know, if you want cheap burger and chips with a big playground for your kids than this place delivers.Plus points are dog friendly and super service from the staff. We liked the call button on the table which was always answered.

This is a lovely pub with a nice little outside play area for the kids. The food was delicious and the choice of ordering in app or using a call to table button was fab, but what really made the experience was the staff who were super friendly, helpful and wonderful with the kids.

Staff are so friendly & helpful! They really listen to everything you ask for & I feel they go above & beyond for the customers :) The food was nice, a great choice & variety on the menu! The pub was so beautifully decorated for Christmas too which added such a cosy feel! We look forward to returning :)

There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe how good the food is here! Definitely a few notches above your average pub grub, the menu contains a nice variety of dishes, with many boasting locally sourced ingredients, with something to appeal to everyone. The fact that the staff are always friendly, welcoming and happy to help is the icing on the cake! Highly recommended!

We took family to this pub/restaurant who were visiting the island. We were not disappointed. It's always busy and always gives fantastic service..food and drinks. Portion sizes are very generous and a fantastic menu with desserts to die for. Call bell on table to order drinks and food.Lovely space outside with gardens ..seating and bouncy castles for the children. And also very dog friendly. Larges car park with ample parking. We are lucky we live here as we can visit anytime... totally recommend.

Food was very average but that was accepted. I wasn't keen on my chilli, didn't feel very authentic. I was really happy with the children's selections. What we got here though was excellent customer service all staff were friendly, efficient and attuned to hidden disabilities. A pub really invested in family, colouring pack for our little one and brilliant playthings and bouncy castle which kept her so entertained she didn't want to leave. I wouldn't come back for the food but the entertainment and service was top notch for families.
