I like unpretentious. This is quirky, but not pretentious in the slightest.Super friendly staff. Dog friendly, child friendly and very accommodating.Local beers which is great. Looking forward to Sunday Lunch.Might be best to call to ensure you get a table, just in case it is busy.Highly recommended.

Fantastic evening meal here. The staff are so friendly and helpful and especially kind and attentive to the kids and dogs in the family! They even have a wall of fame of doggie visitors! The food was also amazing! Belly pork was so delicious and the morrocan lamb pie was also a hit!Really enjoyed our evening here. The perfect spot with amazing views of the sea in a cosy and friendly environment. In the summer we love to come for drinks in the garden too! Can't recommend enough!

We had a delicious dinner here on Saturday, would highly recommend the fish and chips. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming of our 3 young kids. As a bonus the views are incredible too!

Absolutely stunning view if you are seated outside! We visited the spot for lunch and weren't disappointed. The loaded Nachos were delicious, so were the sandwiches!! Servers were lovely as well!!

The Hideaway is without a doubt one of the best places to eat out in Shanklin, the staff are all amazing and the food is always lovely and fresh. A good choice on the main menu together with daily specials make this place so good. A children’s menu is also available. Situated on the quiet coastal path with stunning views over the bay makes this individual quirky place well worth a visit. If you want boring standard furniture with boring standard food to match then the Hideaway is not for you. Thankfully most people who visit are quite rightly over the moon with the food and service. It is very disingenuous of so called top reviewers to give one star reviews when they haven’t even eaten in the establishment. Sadly this happened last night in front of my very eyes after a group who came I. Did not like the furniture and where they had been placed to sit outside and walked out. Then within an hour had posted an unjustifiable one star review. I get it everyone is entitled to their opinion and the Hideaway was not for them, but there is no need to be spiteful. In these difficult times for everybody, a bit of kindness and understanding goes a long way.
