Love this place! The staff were fantastic and made us feel really welcome they clearly know their menu, the food was delicious! It all looked and tasted amazing super fresh and tasty, can’t praise it highly enough. I had the burger and it was possibly one of the best I have had on the Island!

Came here on the recommendation of husbands colleague for our holiday and it did not disappoint! All the staff were absolutely lovely and polite but Kim spent time talking me through the gin menu describing each one and how they tasted and how strong. Karl was very happy and nothing was too much to ask for. Jayden made the best gateau I have ever tasted! It was worth feeling sick from eating too much, the strawberry and limonchello gateau is a must try! We were seated in the sun which was a lovely idea however it was too hot and when we asked if we could move the staff were very accommodating. We will happily visit this lovely pub and it's amazing staff again next time we visit

Just had an absolutely wonderful meal here, it's very obvious they are passionate about food, everything was prepared beautifully. What really made the meal for us was how well we were looked after. These guys are so accommodating. I can't thank you guys enough for how you looked after us, especially the head chef, you guys have gone above and beyond. If you have the chance to dine here, take the opportunity, you won't be disappointed.

Had a cream tea yesterday, wow how big. Homemade scones. Per customer 2 large scones, 4 packs butter, 2 jam 2 cream, pot of Dorset tea all for £6.95, best cream tea so far this year, beating Coles on Shanklin seafront

If you find yourself on the Isle of Wight and in need of a yummy lunch, make a bee line here. Friendly staff, lovely freshly made food and child friendly, we went here on a recommendation and weren't disappointed. And if you're feeling extra hungry, check out the burger challenge! Book ahead as it's a popular spot.

When we were looking for somewhere to have our end of year Christmas / birthday get together, we came across The Hungry Bear. What an absolute treasure of a place! From beginning to end the staff were very attentive, making us feel so welcome and accommodating our plans. The food was delicious (albeit too much for me to finish), the atmosphere was perfect. A great night was had by us all, including dancing (well as a burlesque dance group there is never doubt of that happening). If you're looking for somewhere to make your evening /day special you don't need to look further. (One of my best birthdays). Don't think 5* is enough.

Fantastic place to eat! A MUST. All the food was brilliant and the host was great. My In-laws highly recommend the fillet as best they have ever had! We will be back!

I went here whilst back on the island visiting my parents. First up, the food! This place had a very small menu, but the food they do do, they do really well. Every dish that we saw coming out looked superb. The 4 of us tried 3 different dishes (2 went for the burger as it looked truly epic). Each dish looked fantastic, and tasted jsut as good. I cant remember the last burger I had that was made of such a lump of pure meat, and tasted delicious as well.Next up, the venue, very cool looking place, new inside of old, and done tastfully. Almost couldn't believe I was on the island! The drink menu has some good bits too, the Rum Bear is particularly good with an unusual mix of drinks that really works. The only item that was a little disappointing, the service. Initially very good, but they had a band playing in the courtyard and kind of forgot that there was still a restaurant running. We regularly had to wait 20+ minutes for more drinks. Our bill would have been bigger had we been served more. If it was a £60 pub meal we really wouldn't have minded the wait, but our bill came to almost £200 even with the slow service. You expect a bit more service when you're paying those prices. My parents have been before during the week week had excellent service so maybe its only at the weekends they focus more on the event that the diners....Still, great food, cool place, I wouldn't be put off by the above, just bear it in mind if you want to make a night of it.
