Food good but night ruined by ridiculous wait for service after finishing our main meal, spent 50 minutes being ignored when we wanted to place orders for dessert. In the end could not take being ignored any longer and just paid the bill and left. The place was busy but not rammed, more staff required.

Monday eve, early doors to celebrate my wife's birthday. We have been coming here since early 80's and never had a bad meal. The two waiters were both very professional, friendly and although we had not been for a long time we were treated like old (🤗) friends.Food was as ever was 10 out of 10.Did not think I would need to book....I think next time I will as we obviously hit a very busy time. The staff on Mon 21st March...you were brill.Thank you.

Had a great meal having not visited in a long time. If you take time stewing over your order I suggest you look at the menu in advance. There is a large selection of Pizza, Pasta, Steak etc. The food was lovely and the staff very nice. Service was prompt but not rushed. The restaurant is small so I would always advise to book in advance, even for 2. There is limited parking outside pay and display or free after 6.

Celebrating my husbands 70th birthday. Reserved a table which we were asked if it was ok. Very attentive staff and so friendly as always. Drinks and food ordered. Beautiful food, well presented and tasty. After eating Happy Birthday played and a dessert with candles appeared. Lovely surprise. Thank you very much for making it special 💖

Used to be my favourite eatery in Southport but it’s gone sadly downhill now. Pizza base overcooked, and hard to cut, ingredients not as described and ridiculously overpriced. Service not too friendly either. Very disappointing.

Went there for our engagement lunch today, served me a tin of tuna two sprigs of rocket and half an unchopped onion with cannellini beans not even drained swimming with oil! Soup was bland with no pasta in! Meatballs stale and blend and 3 prawns with a load of soggy tomato on top! The service was appalling no apology rude and dismissive, not even a reduction offered! Wouldn’t go again we had a bad experience here a couple of years ago, nothing changed even after feeding back to the owner!

First time and last time visit food tasteless (lasagne!!!) how can you make that so bland even garlic bread with cheese garlic was not the best obviously no garlic added to it mince in lasagne was like mini meatballs think that’s why they come round with the big black pepper pot to put bit of taste on food. On a good note prices would of been ok had the food had any real substantial taste to it the drinks choice fine if you like wine but some people don’t so limited choice of beers and ciders. Also final point same as a few people said noisy cramped area food smells from on view kitchen waiters not very friendly felt the whole experience was a let down .

Absolutely amazing food, super delicious. Fantastic atmosphere and superb staff. Couldn't fault the place, I'll be back time and time again, guaranteed 😃

Party of 6 and mixed levels of satisfaction. Minestrone could have been tastier, surprising given that it was generously made with vegetables and pasta. Tuna salad was dreadful as the tuna had been served straight from the fridge and was tasteless as a result. The Italian waiter didn't handle the complaint at all well and left us feeling very disappointed. On the other hand the other waiter couldn't have been nicer, even apologising for his colleague's attitude. There's a good ambience although the lack of soft furnishings makes it very noisy and it was difficult to hear conversation at the table. We were upstairs and that could be challenging for some guests as it's up a metal spiral staircase. On the whole the service was good and it wasn't expensive at £30/head including a couple of bottles of ok wine and coffee. Seems to be really popular but we wouldn't go back.

My first visit here, although it's been around for very many years apparently. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very relaxed. The service was very friendly and prompt. As with many restaurants with few soft furnishings, it can be a little noisy, although that does depend on your fellow diners.Edit: I've changed my review from a five to a two. As we liked it so much the first time, we went back at the weekend. It was busy, which is fine, but the noise was unbearable. It was impossible to have a pleasant conversation. We had to shout at each other. It resulted in a headache and I was relieved to leave the place. They desperately need some soft-furnishings!The food was tasty again, although the presentation of my main dish was terrible; it looked like it had been thrown on the plate from a distance.A great pity, but we won't be going back.
