Had a lovely lunch but was rudely spoken to by the resident singer. We were still eating when he was placing his equipment around us; which we accepted, then he basically wanted us out of our seats so he could set up his equipment. We politely told him that we were still finishing our drinks when he became very rude and hostile. Stating he was going to get the Landlady; found out she ran the pub and the restaurant. If it was known that a singer needed our corner then we should not have been given the table. Sadly his rudeness cost the staff their tip. He’s also lucky we didn’t want a pudding.

Such a friendly place, we came in for an early dinner with the kids to such a warm welcome. Food served all day and came nice and quickly. Staff also gave us kids menus and colouring crayons. I had a ploughman's but there were jacket potatoes, burgers, pizza, and fish all on the menu too. Great spot for a drink or traditional pub meal.

Can't comment on the food but the beautiful early evening views, well kept beer and friendly staff mean we'll be back.

Very glad we came to this seafront cafe for lunch.Menus were presented to us almost as soon as we sat down and our order taken as soon as we were ready. We opted for the fish and chips (very good value at 2 meals for £14) with mushy peas as an extra. The meals did not take too long to arrive and were very enjoyable with generous portions. We felt welcomed by the most pleasant, friendly and efficient service.First class all round - Thank you.

As a local to the island the mill bay hasn’t been my first choice and often gets over looked. My family and friends eat out a lot around the island and when with kids it’s often disappointing and expensive. We were all pleasantly surprised today by the mill bay.The kids meals were simple and decent and the adults fish chips was by far the best (genuinely better quality at half the price) I’ve had in a pub on the isle for a long time and at £12 for two it’s unbeatable value. This is simple well thought out pub food and extremely well priced. It’s a very good choice for family’s looking to eat on the seafront. We were served drinks quickly and the food wasn’t rushed or delayed. Waitresses service was great and landlord checked to make sure everything was good.Almost didn’t leave a review because it’s annoying getting a table most places, and don’t want to not get one here next time !Simple well presented and cooked pub food decent draft beers attentive and good staff all for a price that’s surprisingly good especially as every other pub has gone up. If you’re in ventnor give it try.

Unimaginative children's menu with no fish option (other than fish fingers) so was forced to share an adult portion for two small children and they charged us a pound for an extra plate! I wanted to use it, not keep it!Chips were café style Fries, not traditional Chips unfortunately, but a personal preference i suppose.Reasonable food prices but nothing special I'm afraid.Staff friendly enough.

It was situated on the sea front at Shanklin chine. The prices were reasonable and of good portions. But food was very dry and didn't taste nice. I didn't complain, but i certainly would not return.

Fish and chips take away. It was very kind of the staff to cook for us as they have just closed the kitchen. The fish and chips were good quality. The fish portion was big and so the amount of chips as well. Great location and excellent viewed with outdoor seating.
