I had to think long and hard about this review and it's probably one of the hardest star ratings I've ever given. It's so far away from a 5 star rating but the difference between a 4 and a 2 was very difficult. The attempt was 5 star but the execution was way off.I have to start with the wine. Why if you're going to have a 5 course menu would you not match the wines to the food? You have an overly large and pretentious wine list but can't provide a wine for each course? This is odd but being unable to suggest a wine is perverse. I ordered an orange wine which I had no experience of and no knowledge of this style. I queried it's intense sourness. I repeatedly mentioned how it didn't go with the food. Thanks for that and thanks for the off wine. Having looked up the bottle since I see you sold me a bad bottle. How long had that been sat on your shelf? The food was on the whole good but the 15 minute wait between the fish and meat course was inexcusable. The pork belly was stringy, the cod was very slightly over cooked. The lamb was perfect and I loved the match with the puréed parsnip, I'd not tried that before nor would have thought of it. I do have to quibble at what felt like a 15 minute wait between the meat and fish course, really ruined the flow of the evening.I'll be advising people to avoid the restaurant, such a shame. Very much a case of so close and yet so far.My final comment would be that it was very disappointing to find mould on the water bottle cork.

You are treated at no. 3 to 7 courses of deliciousness. Ok, not every combination might be what you might have ordered elsewhere or have cooked at home. But every course will open your mind to the possibility of flavours, textures and pleasures that really well cooked food by a talented chef can give. We are going back next week for more. *****

Absolutely delicious set tasting menu. Wine list was full of variety. Very reasonably priced too (we paid around £40 per head for the set menu + wine) and the combinations were absolutely delicious. Go in with an open mind and let them take you on a flavour adventure. Magnificent! They also accommodated our requests and dietary requirements. Would recommend.

Wonderful little quirky restaurant. With no published menu, just turn up and expect to be given a hand written menu with a small set of around 7 varied dishes, all served as tasting plates - slightly larger portions than tapas, but not full meals. On our visit we got through 5 between 2 people, in addition to the amuse bouche, bread and black garlic butter and mini desert. We still found space for an additional salted caramel ice cream (slightly over salted to my tastes) and 2(!) bottles of Orange Wine, another unusual thing they specialise in. A wonderful culinary experience overall, thoroughly recommended.

Absolutely amazing! The food and service were simply excellent! Not to mention the prices!! We ordered 4 little plates and we were pleasantly surprised to receive 5 more complemetary dishes on the house! The owner told us that she had planned 8 complementary dishes for each table but we were so full that we had to stop after the 2nd desert. Our overall price for 4 dishes and 3 glasses of wine was £50....!!!

Cosy location and friendly staff. Food was of high quality and great service, with entree, bread and desserts offered from the kitchen. Wine was nice too. Enjoyable dinner!

Came here on a late Monday night for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the sheer quality of the dishes and the hospitality. The cod was done just right, very tender and smooth fillet while the Thai green curry garnish wasn’t too strong. The loin of lamb was on the pink side, which again was perfect served with the sauce and mash. The meat was very tender especially being the loin. The night topped off by their amazing home-made salted caramel ice cream served with their bread and butter pudding, which was very smooth and not icy.All in all, 5 out of 5 for this little family run restaurant nestled within the town of Cowes. Outstanding!

Been here twice now and will certainly be going again. Just enjoyed a fantastic NYE meal. Best restaurant on the island. The black garlic butter is to die for. The home made salted caramel ice cream is staggering.
