I had the very bad luck to stay here one year ago and only just got over the trauma now to write a review . I travelled down from London to the isle of wight for my sister's wedding and booked 2 nights for just under £200. When arriving there isn't a reception just a lady on the bar who gives you the key . Unfortunately after a few hours of been in the very top bedroom with my then 18 month old baby she was very badly sick on the bedding and carpet I tried unsuccessfully to locate a member of staff for help and there was no one there other then the bar staff who couldn't get hold of the landlord I stripped the bed and left the bedding in the laundry room .After a very anxious night with my baby I went down in the morning where I was told of about the baby being sick . I was so upset I left before breakfast and had to find alternative accommodation on the day of my sister's wedding the owner did not ask after the welfare of my baby and I reported him to booking .com for a refund of the one night left he wouldn't give me a reason and messaged saying he was taking it to his solicitor for slating him on a isle of wight community Facebook page where I had numerous messages and comments saying this was normal behaviour from him and many had similar experiences . Avoid this dungeon at all costs . Just to add he wanted to charge me for the bedding that was soiled as well and a attempt was tried to take the money from my card .

Huge, easily accessible hotel/pub opposite Osbourne House. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, now serving reasonably priced food again, as of 16/11/21. Well worth a visit.

Good for a night rest stop, Ideal place to stay if you plan to visit Osborne house as just a cross the road

We had a Sunday roast here. It was good value for money. The dining room was a bit dated but definitely worth our visit

Great welcome, excellent pub food with a very good choice, staff welcoming and smiling even though they looked to be under pressure, (probably best to book) slight wait for food, but for the taste and freshness only to be expected.

Stopped for a quick drink. Very friendly staff and it seemes to be a real local pub to the locals.

The location is brilliant, right opposite Osborne House. All the rooms are named after Queen Victoria’s children and very tastefully decorated. The facilities are excellent including a great choice of cooked breakfast and the staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed on 6th September 2021.

Pros: took our rucksacks so we could walk. Friendly staff evening meal good and prices Cons: no hot water till 17.30 had to wait for shower, telly didn't work and unfortunately served with meat sausages not vegetarian and cold beans for breakfast.

Staff welcoming and helpful. However, breakfast was a complete let down. The room which I stayed in was clean but very noisy as it faced the road.Unfortunately, I won't return due to poor quality of food.
