Regal Fish and Chips in Isle of Wight

Absolutely disgusting, chips about 20 years old not nice fresh and fluffy you’d expect from a seaside town. Fish flesh was ok but the batter was horrible. Saveloy not great either. Bit disappointing really. Hope this post saves someone else wasting their time and money. If you try it though prepare for a dentistry bill

Nice fish and chips. It was busy but the proprietor was going above and beyond to get everyone's orders ready.

2021 Only a 45 minute wait. Not the best tasting fish and chips ever. Fish cooked freshly.2022 Returned a year later. Ready for the wait in ordering, had a beer next door at the bar/restaurant while waiting which was a good move.Fish and chips were great this time, large portions. 30 minute wait. Just one person doing everything, and he was very friendly and working his socks off.Up to 3 star as an average (2 star last year).

Not impressed, fish greasy and chips horrible, I would not go there again even if fish and chips were half the price.

Chips were good, l had rock salmon which was burnt, with very little meat on fillet and very thick batter to make size up. Best go some other chippy.

Honestly THE worst takeaway we've ever had.Chips were clearly what was left over from the night before and had been reheated.My veggie burger was completely cremated and inedible.The sausages also looked like they had been reheated.My parents said that the fish was 'okay' but nothing to write home about.Never again 💔 £28 and the majority of it went in the bin. Even the dogs wouldn't touch the chips!! That tells you something. My dogs eat anything.

The only positive Is the guy that works there very pleasant.Chips were horrible ,obviously from the afternoon dried up no taste,the fish was freshly cooked great if you like loads of oil dripping off itUnfortunately I won’t be returning

Very friendly chap behind the counter, cheap prices and good portions, very tasty chips. Visited September 2021.

One guy cooking and serving so service was fairly slow, considering I got there early and there wasn't many people before me.Chips were some of the worst I've ever eaten. Hard and clearly leftover from the previous day and re-heated.Fish was ok to start with until my partner got a mouthful of bones.You come to an island wiichnis a seaside holiday destination expecting good fish and chips. These were a real disappointment.

Shop frontage could do with a facelift. The staff were very nice but the service was incredibly slow. One man doing all the cooking and he needs some help as this place seems to be popular. Once we got our food it was tasty but I'd say probably below average compared with other chip shops I've visited. It's okay but a few tweaks like another person cooking at peak times could make it much better.
