Rooms pretty small. Paint unfinished and tv in weird place. Food is average and lacks variety.Waiters for food confusing since restaurant is mixed with another so asking for help is confusing.Free wifi but wifi is poor. Lots of steps on bottom floor.

Loved the isle of Wight but never be back at this hotel due to the kitchen chef/manager as he calls himself he should be at anger management for his way he speaks to his paying guest's me and my friend had cold food to nights and ended up with sore stomach and being sick my friend said to the cheff/manager he wasn't happy that my friend brought this to his attention and threatened to remove my friend from the hotel the rest of the staff was really nice and helpful I hope this is helpful for future guest's

This place needs a complete refurb. The food left a lot to be desired. Would definitely not go back. That only good thing about this hotel is the location to the sea.

Budget place. Right next to the beach. Clean comfortable rooms. (Beds in our room weren't very comfortable though). We took a family room and liked what we got in the amount. It was a desperate last minute booking. we were welcomed by a very lovely guy who then said he was going to leave at 11 so we had to find our way out of the hotel ourselves (3 am checkout). Lovely overall experience and very grateful for the last minute availability and hospitality.

Just returned from this hotel and was very surprised how good it was for a budget hotel. It may be old and need a lick of paint but it was very clean. The beds were comfy and has lovely white cotton bedding. Most guests staying here are on coach trips with breakfast and evening meal included. The food was great and as a vegetarian I can honestly say it was the best veggie food I have ever had at a hotel. My traveling companions who were not vegetarian enjoyed their meals too. Many thanks to Tony the chef who went the extra mile. The bar was well stocked and the bar staff Lucy and Sy were a delight. There was a 2 hour slot for 99p bar drinks which were all named brands.Entertainment each night was good and had many up dancing.Over all for what we paid it was extreme Value for money. If you go expecting the Ritz you will be disappointed but you are not paying the Ritz prices. A thoroughly good time.

The staff were amazing. The hotel is a little tired but clean. Food was very good and plenty of choice. The hotel was extremely hot and radiator in our room wouldn't turn off. I reported it twice but nothing was done. Overall a good stay and the young staff made it for us.

My young family and I had a great stay. Clean rooms. Bubbly staff. Child friendly. Will come again

Elements of Fawlty Towers. Our coach tour had a late change to this hotel. Chaotic! We were told by reception that our first dinner would be 7.15pm. This was less than 30 mins so a rush starting with finding our room and no time to change or shower. We made it to dining room on time only to be told dinner would now not be ready until 7.45pm! This sort of confusion was repeated several times during our stay. A shame really because waitress was pleasant and food good. Our room was small and "basic" but just about ok but the en-suite was filthy and falling apart. Others in our party found similar or worse.Convenient location on sea front but only view of a wall and beer kegs from our room.

The room was clean serviced every day staff very friendly and helpful ,but attention needs to be paid to other areas such as entertainment very poor. Food could be improved. But good location

Just returned from a 4 night coach trip to IOW staying at the Shanklin Beach Hotel. I had requested a twin room but actually got a family room overlooking the sea which was lovely. The room was clean, spacious and serviced every day. There was a problem with one of the curtains but when we reported it, the problem was dealt with straight away. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving advise about local buses and how to get around the island. The food was basic, but for a 2* hotel it was acceptable. The dining room and bar staff were always pleasant and hard working. The location is very good but the hotel itself could do with an update. But, again for a 2* rating I would not hesitate to stay there again.
