Smoking Lobster grill and cocktail bar in Isle of Wight

The local Seabass and Tuna are delicious. Starters, tempura lobster sushi 🍣 are wonderful, oriental flavour dish that I will never forget. 😋 lovely environment and friendly staff.

A must try if you like fish and sea food. Very friendly and well. We wanted a dish and as we were a bit in a rush the filet it (it was originally a full fish). Very tasty. Sadly we could not try the desert. Have to come back

Hands down the best seafood / Asian fusion food we’ve ever had and for us the best restaurant in Isle of Wight!Firstly this place is always fully booked so that says a lot, we’d been trying to book for almost a fortnight and got lucky on the second night of our stay with a cancellation.The restaurant is quaint, quirky and incredibly welcoming, the location is beautiful on the edge of the beach overlooking the ocean waves. It has around 12 tables inside and a few more outside and most important of all the staff are just amazing.We must have spoke to a girl named Ellie about a dozen times trying to find a table and she was lovely every time. On arriving we were greeted by a girl who’s name I unfortunately didn’t catch, she was super helpful and found us space to park our baby’s buggy and a high chair was already waiting for my daughter to sit in.All of the staff were amazing in all honesty, all three of the girls who were waiting staff for the night came over to say hi and keep our daughter entertained whilst serving us with a smile all night.Now for the best part, the food, mean just wow! I don’t think I can summarise in words how good it was but I’ll give it a go.We opted for the tempura lobster and Thai fish cake for starters. The Thai fish cake was amazing, sitting on a lovely sauce almost tasting like a light Thai green curry. The tempura lobster was probably the only part of our dining experience that was a little underwhelming and that is simply down to the portion size. Taste however was great.For mains, we had tuna katsu on a edamame risotto and catch of the day swordfish with baby new potatoes. Both dishes were incredible and some of the freshest tastiest seafood we’ve had but the honorary mention goes to the risotto which might well be the best I’ve ever had.To end the night we had pandan doughnuts and the lemongrass key lime panacotta. Both were exceptional but the winner for me was the doughnuts, so so light and full of flavour, didn’t taste greasy at all and again might be some of the best doughnuts I’ve tasted.For those looking for great mocktails, we had the strawberry spritzer and the Thai lemonade which were great and lasted us all night.I think the length of my review says enough about our experience here, all I can finish with is whether you are visiting or a local you need to try the food here because it is worthy of a Michelin star.

An absolutely lovely experience at the Smoking Lobster. The staff were very attentive and informative (I wanted to know the sources of their fish and they were instantly able to give me an answer). They were accommodating to other customers when the weather closed in (they were sat outside). The atmosphere was relaxed but upbeat. I had an espresso martini with Japanese coffee would highly recommend and am looking forward to coming back at some point. We had a 2 hour session on the table. The staff were prompt without being rude as to when we had to leave to ensure they had time to turn around the table for the next customers.

Very impressed! Me and my girl did not know what to expect, after all it was the first time trying Swordfish, and fresh caught catch of the day Tuna. This came with fries, salad, and a slaw. It was divine!The service was excellent. The staff greeted us straight away, and were very professional. We were informed of starters, specials, and even let us pick table away from the door, than what we was originally given ( other customers were in and out, and it was a bit draughty.)Overall, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone, and if we return to the island, we will definitely dine here again. 10/10 and 100% satisfaction 👌 Well done guys!

Perfectly positioned directly on the sea front. Great views. Pleasing ambiance and decor. Staff professional and friendly and knowledgeable about dishes on offer. Would definitely go again and would recommend to everyone.

Seriously... ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!Compared to a Michelin star restaurant.. And I know Michelin star chefs!The food is outstanding. The tuna, lobster..... On and on.... Incredible taste. Very refined. Staff are absolutely incredible too. Emma was great and even suggested walks to go on, as we'll as squeezing us in when fully booked! Not just for passing time, but she genuinely wanted to help.Shout out the kitchen staff for such great food and shall surely pass this place for any future visits from friends.They need to open in London. I'm actually blown away.Tried to order for this evening, but fully booked which I'm not surprised.If you visit the Isle of Wight.. YOU HAVE TO STOP BY HERE.Stunning location on the beach too!Thank you

It was a wonderful experience dining here! I really liked the decor and the overall feel of the place.The food was amazing and beautifully presented which just added to the whole experience. My favourites were the scallop kiev's and the banana parfait!The service was excellent and there was never a lengthy wait for the food.Looking forward to my next visit!

Absolutely delicious. Very fresh seafoods. Loved their atmosphere too. Kids menu ‘a portion was very small. However, they enjoyed the dessert and nothing left for me!

We were recommended this place by some friends and when we saw the reviews we knew we had to visit. Two of us shared a half lobster, tempura squid, tempura broccoli, Szechuan king prawns and crispy potatoes. All the dishes were expertly cooked and our server Ellie was super helpful, attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.
