Steamer Inn in Isle of Wight

Delicious food and dog friendly! The Tandoori Chicken Burger was a special last night and was absolutely incredible. Portion sizes are generous and the service was friendly and very quick, which was appreciated with a very hungry 6 year old. Our dog was able to come inside with us, which for dog owners is ideal when it's not that warm outside. Good, fast WiFi is also available. Very, very pleased!

The food was amazing. Huge portions, good gluten free options, really struggled with our starters and mains but seriously couldn't squeeze in any pud. And the staff came to check our order when they realised one of our party was coeliac but hadn't ordered a gf starter. All in all, really good experience. Bring your biggest appetites.

We were in Shanklin last week on holiday with our 10 month old puppy. Dogs are allowed inside and outside which was fabulous. Our starters were lovely and very big and when our mains came we were not disappointed. Absolutely beautiful meal, amazing service and the staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommended the pub.

The setting is fantastic. You can either sit inside or on the decking facing the sea...gorgeous. Can get very busy at peak times so booking is suggested if you can. The food is very good, if a little expensive and the menu is quite varied. The beer is kept well and there is a good selection of wines and spirits. As I live close by, I have visited many times although I did say I wouldn't use it again after being treated very poorly by staff post-pandemic. This has also been mentioned by a number of locals I'm afraid. So, if you can put up with largely pedantic and subdued staff but want a nice meal it's worth a visit.

In January you might expect a dull cold day, and with The Steamer Inn you can expect a warm bright welcome, pleasant quick service and good tasty food. We had baguettes served with a salad garnish and chips. The food was hot and well cooked. Service was prompt and friendly. Thoroughly recommend at any time of year. It certainly brightened up our day.

It's been a while since my last outing here. Place was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and attentive. Had a couple of drinks. Didn't have anything to eat myself,but the food I did see looked very nice. Probably won't leave it as long till my next visit.

Great food and service. Family atmosphere with a great view of the sea. Went back several times during our vacation. Definitely recommend it. Can get busy in the evening so either book or get there early.

Friendly staff. Lovely beach front location. Food was really nice. Best macaroni cheese I've had for a long time! Dog was made welcome too with a bowl of water and a treat! Recommended!

Warm, welcoming and very helpful, rooms very good, clean, fresh, nice decor and the balcony overlooking the channel was wonderful.Breakfast was friendly efficient and good. everything we asked for that had not been offered was bought with a smile.Difficult time with staffing over the whole island, so short hours for evening meals.the young serving staff were wonderful and coped with the long queue for food in the evening from the families who had been enjoying the beach during the day with the wonderful weather.Parking could have been an issue but with the 48 hour, whole island pass it was made easier and convenient for our whole stay and travels around everywhere.Would recommend and also stay again.
