The Alamo in Isle of Wight

The food wasn't bad. The only problem is that they had "Buffalo Wings" on the menu but it said underneath "our tasty wings in a sticky BBQ sauce". That doesn't make any sense. Are they Buffalo or BBQ. I asked the waitress who told me that's what Americans call BBQ wings. I tried correcting her but she wouldn't have it. Buffalo wings are wings smothered in Buffalo sauce. The hot sauce that was invented in Buffalo in New York state. Frank's sauce for example. It's not BBQ. There are Wing Festivals dedicated to who makes the best buffalo wing. I know because I've been. None of them are BBQ. Only BBQ wings are BBQ. Apart from that, it was very nice. I didn't have the wings in the end.

Food lovely, definitely worth the price. Only one table available but expected because it was packed. I'm personally used to lots of flavour so was a tiny bit disappointed but it was really good all the time. A few good vegetarian choices but could have more. Staff kind and patient. Would definitely go again.

Fantastic food, the steaks were amazing. Ribs falling off the bone so soft and tasty. Shame it's on the island otherwise I'd eat here every week! One not to be missed.

Delicious cocktails, great selection to choose from and good specials. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for relaxed space to have a few drinks and enjoy the evening. Food looked good so will have to return to try that out.

Well deserving of its ranking here! Lovely friendly staff, a simple but effective menu. Food is tasty and well priced. What's not too love?
