This has always been a nice place to eat. However, since I was last here , pre lockdown, it has joined a chain and had a complete refit. It is a fantastic place to go for a drink looking at the ships and or a fabulous place to dine. It’s really an excellent visit to make if your looking for a nice place for a meal or just a drink on the new wooden decking outside

This is one of our favourite restaurants on the Isle of Wight but our last visit was disappointing. The location and staff are fabulous as always .We chose to have the roast lamb dinner as we love lamb, usually we would have chosen a fish dish. Sadly the meat and vegetables were tough to eat. My husband managed to eat most of his but I gave up 'sawing' through my meal.As compensation we were given free puddings but that didn't make up for the disappointment of the anticipation of a delicious tender roast dinner.Had we eaten at lunch time it would most probably be a different story.

We had the shared seafood and fish meal which was great... lovely selection, all cooked beautifully. It was our first visit but would definitely go again. Lovely setting and really welcoming and helpful team working there- good service throughout. Thank you 😊

Busy when we did a walk-in. They did manage to get us a table. So that was a plus. Good service. Food was overall OK. Fish was lovely but batter could be better. Chips were OK. Calamari starter was small portion but nicely done. Mussel starter was OK but mussels all small and the sauce (me and my partner could both do better and I am no Gordon Ramsey). Considering you see signs for this restaurant miles away, I was expecting better and although it was overall fine, we found it did not live up to the hype. However maybe the seafood platter does (lobster and crab) but at £80 we felt it was too much but that is the 🇬🇧 prices for such things, I guess.

I booked a meal for 2 for a birthday dinner. Immediately on arrival we were wished happy birthday and seated at a table with a sea view as requested! The crab and lobster bisque was divine with a choice of around 4 different butters. The brownie was a particular highlight, and the service (Michelle and Carly) was impeccable.Worthy of note is that they also brought out the brownie with a candle to acknowledge the birthday, which was a lovely touch and hadn’t been requested. It was quiet as it wasn’t yet high season but the food, service, and attentiveness of staff will be bringing us back.

Return visit after good experience a couple of years ago.To give them credit, they were training a new waitress when we visited, but it was almost empty and the level of service was appaling the food took a long time to arrive and the portions tiny.I'd probably go there again to have a beer after a walk as it's a pleasant interior and lovely views, but I will never eat here again.I never usually give bad reviews, I concentrate on the positives, but this place really needs to sort things out, IE. If I order a starter of olives I'd expect at least half a slice of bread with it.The wine was nice though.

Absoblooming fantastic! Dined here this evening. Just myself and my daughter. Crab and lobster bisque and a mussels & clams mix in a cider and leek broth as starters. Grilled lobster and fish pie for mains. Sticky toffee pudding and the spiced apple & plum crumble for dessert. Ate far too much but every bite was a delight! Michelle served us with a smile and a friendly word and made the meal even more fantastic. Great food. Great staff. Great environment and ambience. Will be back when we are on the island again.

Our first visit, made to feel very welcome. Food good, especially the crab dishes. Lovely friendly staff working very hard.Stayed a night in a clean, warm, comfy room with great sea views.Leaving the following morning after a tasty breakfast and a walk down to the beach below.

This place as you can imagine, stank of fish. Two people out of 4 had the fish and chips, one had the sticky toffee pudding and we each(4) had a drink. This cost more than £60 and also had to give us thirty back as we were charged for a different table. But at least they rectified that. So for over £60 two people had a meal. Fish and chips - well after eating, both who ate spent the whole day in bed feeling ill. They both said the batter tasted really funny and old. And it made them feel really ill. The sticky toffee pudding got the thumbs up at least. Think some of the issue was it was out of season (I'm hoping anyway). They do lobster for £50 think it is half. So you may like it. Personally, value for money not at all, quality not good and was just a let down. Especially with two being poorly afterwards.

Lovely place to visit. Staff were great. Master waiter knew his rum advising us of s particular nice one. We drank most of the bottle. Though we didn't eat here. The food that came out smelt define and looked amazing.. they have a great fire
