The Crown Inn Shorwell in Isle of Wight

Under new management and really coming along fine. I gave them 5 stars because they are such lovely people and the way they are going it's going to be second to none in the hospitality stakes!

Reopened today, under New Management. Had a lovely pint and said hello to a few new face's and a few old.. loads of parking and open space for kids or woofers..

Visited Early May 2022 and pub still retains friendly atmosphere it did on our first visit 56 years ago .Locals very chatty and welcoming .You must visit if you are on Isle of Wight holidaying .Check food availability and not sure how much may be on offer but enjoy the character of this charming pub which used to have a Trout Farm ..

Lovely traditional pub in the beautiful village of Shorwell. Really friendly, good selection of drinks and nice old building

I was staying near the Crown Inn for a few days and ate there a few times. Unfortunately £16 for a "wagyu" burger hit rock bottom. Two beef paddies were so overcooked it took #1 worst burger. Other things ordered,goat curry, no spice and not much meat. Potato and leak soup that was too spicy. I think you get the point when locals don't go there. I hope things change, it would be a shame to loose a pub in this location.

Quaint, friendly pub. Nice grounds for outdoor seating with ducks and fish or inside to take you back in time. Dessert was also amazing.

Cracking place to go and eat whilst on holiday. Great outside when the weather is nice too with a pond and stream with huge fish flapping around. This always somewhere we head to when we're on holiday on the island. Thoroughly recommended!

I have just come back from The Crown on a blissful sunny afternoon. Sat by the carp pond, I enjoyed the stunning chicken and chorizo tagliatelle (as recommended by the helpful management). Very well priced, great service and a haven of tranquillity and natural beauty at the heart of the Isle of Wight. *sorry the image doesn't show the food at it's best, I wasn't about to stop eating to take a picture!
