The Manor Inn Restaurant in Isle of Wight

They say if you want to know what the Isle of Wight what like 50 years ago just go today. If you want to know what dinning was like 50 years ago, pop along to the Appley Manor restaurant today. Most of the customers have never left.

It feels like its operating a few decades behind everywhere else. Stark white canteen lighting, flummoxed by dietary requirements, full English I'd expect to pay a fiver for in Skegness, hand driers as effective as a tepidly warm fart... it wasn't very expensive, I suppose, and the staff seemed to try their best but it just felt inequipped to operate in the 21st century.

Used to love this place however came here spent £6.30 on some cheap nachos with rock solid cheese on top.. then spent £10.00 on a Mac and cheese dish that was swimming in Greece and tasted like the clumps of flour it had in it.

AVOID AVOID if you have a great taste in food ! THIS IS BEYOND CHEAP AND CHEARFULLWasn’t my choice to come Christ no! Family outing. Trust me this place makes weatherspoons look like the ritz.Disgusting Sunday dinner no taste what so ever, meat was bland it come with 3 roast potatoes and one rotten new potato? The cauliflower cheese was Rock hard if you had dentures they would have honestly broke. The mince sauce was watery as anything and as for the gravy let’s not get me started on the gravy it was like brown rain !!!!Let’s get on desserts. For all you cheesecake lovers out there don’t order it absolutely vile. Stone cold so we took it back and asked for the chocolate waffle and the waitress come out and said “maybe we could do something with the recipe” sorry love just defrost it as it’s not home made. The customer service was shocking not one waiter / waitress came and asked how was everything. The whole thing was a disaster from start to finish absolutely VILE. The place could have done with a lick of paint as well Right dump …..

Really enjoyed the meal at a very reasonable price. Place looked a little dated but staff were really nice and they have an extensive bar.

Great food and service Highly recommended No booking was needed for midweek lunchtime, but will be needed for a Sunday definitely as roast dinners are superb!

Visited Appley Manor Hotel for lunch whilst we were visiting the Isle of Wight. Tables well spaced apart, hand gel supplies placed around the restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had the fish and chips off the light bite menu. Nice crispy battered fish and thick cut chips, plentiful and tasty. Will be back when we're next on the Island.

Very good menu with food well cooked. The staff are polite and efficient.All at a very reasonable cost. Overall probably one of the best value for money restaurants on the island. Decor a bit dated.
