The New Inn in Isle of Wight

Once again lovely food, amazing atmosphere, excellent service, friendly and welcoming staff, service with a smile, even with 9 of us (6 kids and 3 adults), would highly recommend a visit if you haven't been already and if you have go again 🙂 brilliant family friendly pub.

Stopped here for lunch... Friendly staff and the Ploughmans lunch and prawn and salmon salad were superb... Outside seating area needs a bit of attention though.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. £10.95 for what could only be described as a child's portion of food. 2 of our 4 had eaten here the week before, on a Saturday and both said the portion sizes were much bigger. I was the only one to mention this was unacceptable... Enter the absence of any kind of customer service, I was first advise by the waiter, that if I had an issue, I had to go to the manager, so up I stand with my dish and go to the bar, I advise my problem with portion size and return to my table, manager comes to table minus dish to advise the chef said, "that's the portion size, take it or leave it" and be refunded, surely an extra scoop would have been the better option than this "F YOU" approach, anyway, not wishing to go hungry, as I had a long journey ahead of me, I "took it", one bite in, stone cold, back to the bar, refunded. The manger was apologetic, however, with a distinct lack of any kind of customer service skill. Very disappointing indeed. oh and we waited far too long for said tiny portions to even arrive. Shocking.

We stopped for Sunday lunch at The New Inn after walking round the estuary. The staff were lovely and our roast pork dishes were excellent. A very good experience and we recommend.

The best steak and ale pie I've ever had! Lovely little courtyard garden (but not suitable for those who struggle with steps!!).

Lovely quintessential English pub. Pleasantly surprised by the choice of food. Our chicken &chorizo tagliatelle was delicious, good portion and well priced. Would recommend a visit, nice atmosphere, very helpful, cheeky staff. A perfect evening meal after a long day’s coastal walk! With no other eatery options in the direct vicinity, we were delighted to experience the New Inn! We returned the next day for morning coffee, good luck guys. This has all of the hallmarks of a very successful business !

Really lovely little pub, had a great sandwich for lunch, serving a full menu from13th May 2022, warm welcome and a gem of a place. Support lovely pubs like this! 👍
