Went for Sunday lunch. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We even had live music which was an added bonus. Liked it do much we are going back in a couple of days.

We had an early dinner here on Saturday before heading back to the ferry and it was great. It is a lovely pub with a large restaurant and great views of the surrounding countryside and the South coast of England in the distance. The staff were very welcoming and the service was very good. If you are on the Isle then I would definitely recommend.

Came across this gem of a place while looking for somewhere to eat. What a find! Great views, great staff and even greater food! Wish we'd found it ages ago on previous visits to the island. Highly recommended and will definitely be back! We had rump steak with homemade chips and peppercorn sauce. Need to come bck to try the tempting specials. Keep up the great works guys and gals you deserve the full 5 stars.

Lovely pub/restaurant. Food is excellent and staff are so friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble, and not overpriced. One of us wasn't keen on an ingredient in one of our chosen courses so the chef most kindly offered to omit it. Win, win! What a lovely meal! Just to my partner's taste. Made such a nice change to go out for a meal that we BOTH actually enjoyed, without feeling it was a thorough waste of time and money, and wishing you'd stayed and cooked better at home!! The Sun Inn was the best venue all round during our week away. Ticked all the boxes. Thank you.

Excellent food and atmosphere at this eatery. The beer garden is large with plenty of tables and beautiful views to the distance woods, sea and cliffs beyond. Service is polite and attentive with our menu adaptions agreed to with a smile. No food picture sorry it was too good to let go cold!

Been to the Isle of Wight for a holiday three times now, and every time I’ve been here I’ve come to The Sun Inn twice! The food is always excellent and the staff are lovely, extremely helpful and accommodating. Situated a walkable distance from Compton beach, it’s perfect for either a drink or a meal. Can’t recommend enough!

Fantastic food great service and we didn't know there was Live Music from 3 to 5, definitely a place we will eat again. If I could give 10 Stars I would. Thank u for making it great day and lunch

We was lucky enough to find the sun pub on a sunny31st May Bank holiday on our tour down from the needles. And wow! Hulverstone itself is a super scenic place, but the views offered from the Sun pub out across the fields to the sea are nothing short of beautiful. Also I must mention the live music on offer, the friendly staff (Thanks Alex, I did tell you I was leaving a review!)The food arrived in a very presentable way, I have taken some pictures of our meals this day, also I have a picture of the current menu as of 31/05/21My only pointless complaint was a small wait for our cutlery once our meals arrived. Alex remedied this immediately. We would not hesitate to use the fine establishment in the future. A big thank you from the Howe family.✌🏻

Very accommodating, food was great and more than reasonable price wise didn't feel rushed by staff to leave once we finished eating, overall great place to grab a bite to eat

menu might look like the usual pub grub, but food is really a step above! one of the best steak and ale pies I've ever had, and definitely the best sticky toffee pudding. lost a star because our bread basket was stale, and service was quite simply appalling (and yet I would return for the food)
