Very popular watering hole for hikers, bikers and site seeing tourists.A large lounge/dining area with loads of additional outdoor seating. To their great credit, even at times when it is truly thronged, the team here are unbelievably on the ball.Add to that great beers, great food and excellent and attentive service.

Yesterday was our first visit, very warm welcome at the bar, fabulous steak and ale pie with lovely vegetables and mash. The braised steak was amazing, so tender. Wine by the glass very reasonable, can recommend the Merlot. We'll definitely be back, thank you.

So good we kept going back. Lovely food, fast service from friendly staff and dogs very welcome; they have a choice of a few snacks on the menu for your hungry canine. For the humans there are some top quality beers, vegetarian and gluten free meals which come in generous portions and you can choose to dine indoors or out. I highly recommend booking beforehand as this is a very popular venue around dinnertime.
