Lovely 15th century pub. The pub is dog friendly and it has a great front and back garden. The food did not disappointed and the portion are very generous. We will definitely be back.

To give 1 star I feel is too much but I'm unable to leave no stars. We have visited the woolpack numerous times when the pub was run by the previous owners. Visited today and I am appalled that in this day and age with businesses trying to recover from covid, that places like this exist. My Mother and I queued up to order food and when it was our turn, we were asked our outside table number, I said I didn't know and the ladies response was "get with the programme, are you for real "she shouted at us but I thought she was joking, she wasn't.....I then asked a question about the prawn salad and was told "no prawns they will be here tomorrow" I said oh OK we didn't know that, so had to choose something else on the spot...we then asked if the trout was filleted her response was, its got a head and hurry up ive got a queue and was very very rude stating how she had to get back into the kitchen and we were wasting her time.I politely told the lady we wouldn't bother as it was all obviously too much for her and i begrudged giving £100.00 plus for meals for our party when I had been spoken to like that. I told my husband who went back into the bar to asked the lady why she was rude and she shouted at him that she had 2 staff members off sick and she was busy, he spoke quietly and politely to her and she screamed at him across the bar....then a young man came out and shouted get out of my pub.....all i can say is OMG, UTTERLY DISGRACEFUL......the previous owners were lovely always friendly and would stop and talk to our dog and give her treats and would remember her name when we went back.....their food was great too....we didn't get a chance to sample this food but after being verbally abused, will never visit this place again.....we have a holiday home in Hythe which we rent and would gladly recommend any establishment in the area to our clients......this is one we will be warning them against. I suggest that being in the hospitality business means putting your customers first and going above and beyond and not talking to people like that...

We stayed in Rye for our honeymoon and went to this lovely pub/restaurant. Food excellent quality, we were served quickly, very friendly staff. When in the area, we will call in again, thank you.

Great pub. Not too busy, nice location, lovely garden, great food, good selection, with a car park. Wish I lived closer.

Shame it's a brewery pub, the beers are OK but none I really like but the food was amazing as always, proper pub food and proper portions. Beautifully old traditional pub that you have to duck to get in. Could spend all day in there drinking if there was better beers but will always be back for the food, very reasonably priced as well. I do recommend but I can't help but moan about the beer choice!

I first happened on this hostelry late one December evening when forced out because the good lady wife was having a soirée chez nous with friends. Too many multi coloured light bulbs, sequins and rosé spritzers... It was a crisp, clear and cold evening, in the middle of nowhere on the marsh - guided to the car park by the lights of the Plough... The first thing I spied on entering was the inglenook - large enough for a five a side game and en equally warm welcome from behind the bar. Having said I wasn't eating but just wanted a pint of Masterbrew, I took a copy of the menu and sat by the fire in the inglenook. It may have been the warmth of the fire or the liquid amber of the Masterbrew but the next thing I knew was I had ordered some sticky toffee pudding in butterscotch sauce to accompany my second pint of the aforementioned pint of Faversham's finest... All without having left my seat in the inglenook. If you want gastro chic then stay in Rye... I have since been back several times. Tremendous home cooked food and home cooked portions - on one occasion I even managed all three courses (though was subsequently unable to move or eat for 48 hours 🤣). You'll not get away with any faux poncery here - the welcome is warm and honest. Proper food, proper beer, proper pub.

Visiting this area while on holiday my friends booked the Woolpack for lunch. What a pleasant surprise it was. I had an excellent meal and a bottle of ale. The surroundings were those of a traditional Inn. The staff were very nice and friendly too. Highly recommended.
