White lion pub in Isle of Wight

First visit for some time and disappointed compared with a few years ago. Menu was uninspiring, orders were wrong and missing items, which were promptly corrected. Sadly wouldn’t return unless things changed.

Excellent food with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were amazing, friendly and professional and couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend to go.

Ate here Saturday 13 Nov 21. Scottish chef cooked myself pork medallions, best I’ve ever had! Waygu burger was also superb. Very quiet, but I’m more than happy with that!

We had an excellent meal here last night. They served us brilliantly it was my partners birthday and they even gave him a drink on the house. Service was excellent and the food was amazing

Lovely pub with a warm welcome. The food was excellent and the staff outstanding, friendly and helpful. So refreshing to receive such professional customer service. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. Well done to you all.

Went for lunch with the family and wasn't disappointed. We had scones and jam...big bowl of mussels with crusty bread and butter...and pate with toast and onion relish.Scones were warm and freshly cooked. Portion sizes were fantastic. Drinks were reasonably priced aswell. Very friendly accomodating staff . Nothing too much trouble. As an islander...would definitely return.

Good pub type food served there. They were very welcoming and friendly; and also very accommodating in our food requests, as we adapted our menu choices slightly. The thing they excel in here though are the desserts. These are restaurant quality desserts and worth every penny in my opinion. Lavasa Coffees (including ones such as latte and cappachino) are also available here.They have made the decor look lovely in the section we sat in. It had a purple, white and silver theme with a slightly modern twist to it, which is unusual for a pub; but it was a very welcome change from the usual tired old grotty looks of other pub interiors I've seen elsewhere! I do hope they will consider to decorate at least the other end section in a similar way in the near future.Will definitely be back here before our holiday ends!

Great food and friendly staff! Husband had steak and ale pie and I had Gammon. Daughter Chicken nuggets and chips. The chips are wow! Were happy to slightly adjust my meal, nothing asked was a problem there today. Very accommodating. Food was delicious, apparently the best steak and ale pie my Husbands had! Well presented food. The chef (I believe) came from the kitchen and asked how our food was. He made my daughter giggle. Lovely guy.

The White Lion is a very smartly decorated public house, the decor very tasteful. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. The food served was great, I visited on a "curry night" which I really enjoyed. You received a warm empty plate and you went to a table containing two massive tureens containing three different curries and boiled rice. You filled your plate and you can go back as many times as you like for £12.95. There was a normal menu available in case something different was required.The toilets were really clean and well maintained.All in all a really good experience.
