Chalk Pit Inn in Lewes

Just OK.. Bed is the best thing about Premier Inn.. Always get a good night's sleep. Did not have food but did order a double G n T as a nightcap and if there was any alcohol in the final drink I couldn't detect it!! Very dubious. Will still use Premier inns but will not return to this one. Also they have no parking other than adjacent public car park. So check timings is advised.

We've been to many Premier Inn hotels over the past 15 years as we love them. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts good as expected. Parking is free overnight.However, we always do Premier Inn for a good night's sleep due to the quality beds and pillows. Ours were worn out. The pillows were not firm, nor were the extra ones they kindly supplied. The mattress topper had failed and the mattress was lumpy.Windows around the site also hadn't been cleaned for a long time, inside or out.I hope PI can scrape enough cash together post pandemic to replace their key selling points.

This hotel is well located and appears to be recently renovated.We were able to work around the local council parking requirements (the hotel has no parking).The big issue is the lack of housekeeping services. We arrived back in our room to find bins had not been emptied, wet towels had not been replaced, tea and coffee had not been replaced and the bed not made the receptionist initially advised it was our fault for not requesting this. Apparently the letter left in guests rooms that describes how well they are cleaning to meet Covid requirements notes on line 29 that housekeeping is only provided at a guests specific request. The "do not disturb" "clean my room" tag for doors is also apparently ignored by housekeeping as this is marketing to show how important cleaning is here .....I requested housekeeping for our room to be advised by the same receptionist that they had finished for the day. We were able to obtain dry towels, tea and coffee and some clean cups.Will not be coming back and if you are visiting the town I'd recommend any of the other hotels that regard room service as being part of charging for hotel accommodation

Ok for the price. Clean room. Friendly staff. Had to ask for a second towel (there were two of us). Free Wi-Fi was poor, v low bandwidth. Main problem was we were put in room 101 which was next to the main hallway door and toilets and I think the staff office, so disturbed by noise during the night.

Clean and comfortable. Useful restaurant on site. Tasty Brewer's Fayre, drinks expensive. Staff were polite and helpful. Our double room was made up for a family room, but it was quickly sorted. Prices considerably higher at peak times. I think £150 a night for a room (no meals) at a peak time is a huge mark up, but demand is higher than supply so there is no choice.

It was ok. Whether it was just this site or the brand itself I don't know, but it seemed a little less than I remembered from staying in other properties in the chain. At the premium price, I was expecting better (I've had a lot better for the same or a lower rate). The pillows were very poor, which seriously detracted from the stay. Maybe it was just the room I stayed in, but it was like sleeping on do gravel, well it would have been, had it been possible to sleep.

Welcomed to the premier inn hotel lewes town centre by a gentleman very happy and welcoming. Got my checked in for my stay as easy as it could be and said have a great stay.The following morning myself and my family had breakfast booked the same gentleman said good morning to us and took us to our table. He explained continental and coffees etc showed us what we could have and if we wanted hot full English he would give us some tone to decide. We decided to have a cooked breakfast there was 9 of us split on 2 tables close by as he could get us together. Took 9 orders of breakfast with no issues at all. The gentleman brought 9 plates of food to us over 3 trips so our family had all our food come out together when normally 1 table would get there food before another. He was very professional and kept a smile on his face and cracked it all out with no giving up.After breakfast we asked him for his name sounded like lee but my wife said thought it was a Leo but it’s either lee or Leo, I wish you all the best and continue the fantastic professionalism to guests and everyone else in your work career.It’s not every day you find a fantastic worker with a passion to keep residents/guests very happy and welcoming and wanting us to stay longer with the grate service he provided for us 9.See you again soon!!Smith family

Great Hotel. When we visited it was extremely clean quiet, comfortable and staff very helpful. They have a dinner breakfast deal. The dinner was surprisingly good and with good options for Vegans. Their vegan burger is the Beyond Meat and was cooked perfect. Of course there are real meat options that also look good and very tasty.The breakfast not so great but for the price can't complain. This chain has definately moved on with modern times and have become very competitive with availability and pricing. Easy Ringo parking so if you are staying free you can park with the App from the hotel itself. Can't give 5 stars as that is reserved for the very best but we'll deserved the 4 stars.
