Cote Brasserie - Lewes in Lewes

Just had a birthday lunch at Cote and the staff made it very special for me indeed. I adore French Onion Soup but it is rather hot so I opted for whitebait but was thrilled to receive a mini bowl of French Onion Soup as little surprise. Dessert was also served on a Happy Birthday plate with extras. Nice touches, great staff and will definitely re-visit

Not good this time.... sea bass over cooked and was dry and too crisp... hardly any potato andso many peas I could have shared them round. The minute steak was very “ thready” and inediblethough we were refunded for this... in fact my friend was not charged for her starter either whichwas fair. Server was lovely and apologetic for bad meal. But what has happened to lovely Cotewhich you used to be able to guarantee a decent meal in!!! Has put me off to be honest... !

Nice decor and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We went as a works group and although the food came out pretty quickly I were left feeling a bit underwhelmed with both my starter and mains, somewhat simple and lacking flavour. The Chocolate mousse desert was good but probably wouldn’t go again.

A very nice (but slightly pretentious) restaurant. A limited vegetarian/vegan menu and only one choice for vegetarian celiacs.Having said that, what they did have was delicious. Prices were slightly above mid range, but a great restaurant for a special meal out.

Really lovely dining experience here at lunchtime. Prix fix menu was excellent. Staff were welcoming and efficient without being at all ott. Highly recommended.

You know you are on to something special when the sides outshine the mains. The spinach was a smash hit!But but ... waiting staff - a tad too keen!

I was a little disappointed by my recent visit to Cote in Lewes. It was my first visit there, and I had booked ahead for dinner on Easter monday evening for my partner's birthday. First of all I have to say our server was fab, she was attentive and friendly and made us feel welcome, starters and wine were also good. However for main I ordered fillet steak med/rare and my partner ordered fillet noir. I was not expecting my steak to be cut in 2 so I had 2 thin slices, and was unfortunately over cooked which was a shame.

The food was top-notch, really good. Service was very slow and inattentive though. I'd be happy to try again to see if it improved.

Enjoyed my lunch there. Staff was very helpful and food was delicious...so was wine 🙂 would go again!

Handsome staff. This place is best to call ahead and get reservations, but will take walk in if they have availability. Food and service outstanding. Reasonable priced for the quality you get.
