Gino's Italian Restaurant in Lewes

Very disappointed!!! my first experience at Ginos was brilliant and the food was outstanding, BUT I ordered the exact same food yesterday 16/04/22, Fillet Steak, Chunky Chips, and Peppercorn sauce, and my friend had Pizza, we also ordered a garlic bread to share. my fillet steak did not taste right and left me with an bitter taste the chef apologized and said this was cooked a different way. the pepper corn sauce was warm and the chips were not cooked fully. I requested the food be re cooked giving the restraint a chance, 30 minutes later, my friend had finished her meal, and our garlic bread was cold, my food arrived, I cut into my fillet steak and it as medium raw, I had asked for my fillet steak to be cooked well done, it had to be sent back again, the pepper corn sauce was left on the table and after another 15 minute wait my fillet steak arrived back out but a fresh or warmed pepper corn sauce was not replaced. At the end of the meal I would have expected the bill to have been adjusted for the amount of issues and spoilt meal but this did not happen, I raised this with the friendly waitress and the response was " if i wouldn't have had the steak re cooked the bill would have been adjusted" I responded by saying I am very disappointed, please pass my comments onto the manager and I will NOT be returning. I am in dismay at the response from Gino's and feel they lack in customer service skills, catering to customers needs, requirements and a basic level of value of understanding their customers. If the food had been cooked to the same standards as prior, and not initially rushed by the chef, the meal or complaint would have been narrowly avoided, and as a result of the complaint, I strongly feel the restraint should have by means of good will for their error adjusted the bill, or invited us back for a complimentary meal.

Excellent service & quality food on a perfect Christmas Day. The staff could not do enough for you & were so professional throughout a busy day. Our server Macie was second to none. Will definitely be back.

Sunday roast was lovely, had beef and it was tender and tasty. Great atmosphere, waitress was friendly and good at her job. Sticky toffee pudding with custard was delicious.

Great little place, nice menu, great food, starter portions a little on the small side though but good quality.

Went here with the family for my Dad's birthday. Personally had the fillet steak and it was absolutely delicious, extremely tender and wonderful flavour. The rest of my family were very pleased with their meals as well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we will certainly be returning in the future.

Waited 20 mins to get our order taken.Then an hour for the starters, 13 small mussels 5 never opened and 2 never had a mussel inside or loose in the bowl. £6.50Dinner, hour and 10 minutes later,Cold steak, tomato and mushroom.  Asked for the Insalata Di Casa, No olives, No mozzarella, No cucumber  and No pesto £6 for leaves and tomato. We had high hopes for this restaurant. Staff was more interested in serving their locals first than new trade. Shame. Not wasting our money here again.

Did not bother with a starterWill try the Arancini next time.MainsI had Sirloin of beef and my partner had Pork belly both served with roast potatoes seasonal vegetables a Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese,which was fine.The only comment I would make is the roast potatoes did not have a crispy crust and golden brown colour but maybe it a personal preference?Did not bother with Dessert would like to have seen a home-made traditional dessert.Will be back.

Food was amazing, couldn't fault the staff, had 3 courses and nearly rolling out! Food pictured here was the carbonara with no bacon, and the chorizo and mushroom risotto special, so gorgeous and generous portions :) 100% would recommend

Very nice place, service was excellent, well priced, The food was fantastic, breakfast on a pizza is a new form of genius. highly recommended

Good pub grub, we visited for Sunday roast and was pleasantly surprised. The Railway Tavern used to have beer sodden carpets and felt grubby. Today's Railway Tavern is clean (not spotless) and looked after. The regulars are friendly and cheerful and the staff seem to be happy in their work.There is outside seating weather permitting in their garden out the back.The starters were very tasty and a good portion with not a wilted lettuce leaf in sight! We had roast beef for main and the only fault was I like my beef medium and there wasn't an option for this. Still very tasty and will be visiting again in the future to try some of the other dishes.
