John Harvey Tavern in Lewes

This place is fantastic - good outdoor seating, nice food, friendly staff and a central location. We had a great time and will be back again!

First time we had been for a meal here and have to say we were very impressed. Friendly service and didn't have to wait long even though the pub was quite busy. The food was delicious, plenty of it and very good value, hope to visit there again soon

Love this "old world" proper pub/brewery tap. As you would expect well kept real ale well served. Of course they must do food and alternative beers for non believers but a great place to visit.

I'm sure the cod was 2ft long and it was absolutely amazing! Wife had mac n cheese with bacon, garlic bread and side salad and she really enjoyed it. Old Ale was on tap and was as lovely as ever. Great beer from a great brewery. John Harvey Tavern is my go to place when I am in Lewes. 5*

Church for ale lovers, Harvey's home ground with great sausage rolls to accompany an absolutely & totally fabulous pint and looks like a proper boozer. Fans of Thomas Paine meet there. Go there, soon! It's heaven.

Loved the tavern. Sweet spot to sit and have a nice drink and have a good chat: if there was music it wasn't loud. Outside seating available. All their brews are available here, season-dependent, and we all had something different. I prefer lighter ales and they were very good. Very clean (only one toilet for the ladies😬), bright but with English Pub dark wood so lots of ambiance. Good location, just off the main Street, with views of the river and beautiful apartments over the way. Absolutely wonderful. Couldn't have had a better experience. Crisps etc available (I don't know the brand but also really good). Parking is a bit of a small walk away because there is no parking in the immediate area. Early afternoon mid week with kids off from school, three of us had no problem getting a table.

First time visit to this little gem of a real old fashioned pub nestled in a little side street opposite Harvey's brewery. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, superb selection of real ales and home made sausage rolls to die for!! 😋

A pint of Harvey's Best is just the job at just about any time of day, and when it comes with a Burger, Skinny Fries, and Onion Rings - for £10.00 - what's not to like? - and served at a table outside, in the sunshine. Pleasant, friendly staff too. Thanks, folks!

Friendly and attentive staffs. Ordered a BLT baguette and pleasantly surprised with how fresh the stone baked baguette is. So satisfied with my delicious lunch.
