Really, really nice roast. Got moved at first as fully booked but given a table upstairs. Nice people in there. Pigs in blankets definitely my favourite.

Had an excellent lunch here! Plenty of vegan and gluten free options as well as meals for meat eaters. The new chef is doing an excellent job! I had the celeriac steak with mushroom ragu and tenderstem broccoli, recommended to me by the staff. It was thoroughly delicious, so well cooked and presented, really full of hearty flavours. My mum had the sausage and mash, excellent tasty sausages, buttery mash and a fabulous onion gravy. Dietary labelling is nice and clear and the staff are able to advise well. Being a Lewes pub, they also have excellent beer and wine. Highly recommended, already looking forward to our next visit!

Stopped in for lunch after Boxing Day, lots of vegetarian and vegan options and the food was really good! Well priced and really nice! Will definitely be returning!

Great pub in Lewes. Nice food & beer selection, has some traditional pub games & does lots of unique/interesting events. Check out their website for events, but go visit to drink normally

We booked a group Christmas lunch at this lovely pub and it surpassed our expectations. Even though we had to cancel 4 lunches last minute due to Covid, they were so helpful and nothing was a problem.The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was DELICIOUS! particularly the turkey roast - it came with every trimming you could think of and every item was perfectly cooked.Thanks to the team for a great Sunday afternoon.

Really appreciate the vegan food options and they were good! We had the Korean burger and the fish and chips tofu, would recommend!

Lovely little old pub. Super friendly and helpful staff. We went for Sunday roast. It was so delicious. My only qualm was, I had the main roast meal (pork belly) for £15. My parents had the giant Yorkshire pudding meal (beef) for £7. Both meals were pretty much identical in size. So either one was great value for money or the other was overpriced. Both tasted great tho.

An absolute gem. Interesting architecture, good selection of cask ales in good shape, friendly staff and a very good Sunday lunch. Top notch.

Beautiful old pub, and when we arrived some local musicians were playing in the street with the pub-goers gathered listening. It was lovely!!!No London Pride on tab sadly, but a good selection nonetheless.

A great experience!Loved that we were able to book a spot in the beer garden/terrace area. Though we arrived bang on midday Sunday so probably didn’t need to (but don’t want to risk it when coming down especially).Some great vegan options and was impressed with the Tofish and chips.Cold cider and sunshine. What more do you need 🤷🏼‍♀️ We’ll be back!
