Beautiful fresh fish and chips and the best curry sauce

My review from three years ago gave the shop 5 stars and, I posted, "My favourite fish and chips, very fresh."Since then, the quality has noticeably declined. I ordered a delivery three weeks ago - it arrived quickly and was hot. Disappointingly, after eating my supper, my mouth was left with a coating of what seemed like flour. Had the oil been used too many times?The two people I dined with also agreed with me about the deterioration over the past year in quality of the food from the Newhaven Fish Bar.I might try the food there again but, for now, I'll look elsewhere for fish and chips when I visit Newhaven.

Had fish and chips here a few days ago. 4 different orders and all served perfectly.Good fish and non greasy chips, just right. Staff very helpful and served with a smile.

Have been many times before, should have learnt from last visit!! Had to wait a good 20+mins, NOT worth the wait, fish awful, ended up throwing away, chips tasteless, weird taste, old oil ?! Definitely wouldn't recommend and will definitely not be going back again or recommending it!!

If you are local then look no further, this is the place for you.The Fish & Chips are second to none. Just like the staff and service.Don't take my word for it, give them a try ??....

Was charged a £1 extra by mistake, it's not about the £1 but the principle, I had enough on my card for this meal and Electric, now I cant get electric as I'm £1 short I was told it would e refundedBack on my card wherever!!!!Im not happy, I'm visiting family out if town and diddnt have alot of cash, so will see how the food is before I give another review, make sure you check if you use your card here, I feel that it wasn't a fair mistake... Well. Just worked out my order was £7.40 so. Still charged over priced, I'd avoid if you don't wanna be ripped off...

Great chippy, one of the few places down south where you can get battered haggis. Initially thought the price of £4 was pricey, but it was enormous. With chips too, it took 20 minutes, understandable as it was a special order.Though things were taking longer than usual for most, due to the protocols for Covid. They adopted a very much 'safety first' approach and though it was a bit of a faff having to wait outside, it was proably for the best. Shame I live 100 miles away, as it was great.

Amazing chips and veggie burger! Lovely lovely staff and people :) very kind & generous, thank you for feeding me on my London-Paris bike ride.
