R & B Fish Bar in Lewes

I believe it's recently changed hands. Unfortunately though the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very overpriced. A medium chips priced at £3.30 per portion. The sausage I ordered was poor quality. With a rusky texture.and cheap meat taste. Strangely also I couldn't taste the vinegar even though I had a generous portion applied by myself.Definitely room for improvement. I doubt I'll go back for a long time.

Amazing fish and chips the best I’ve ever had. Staff friendly and good to support a family business. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Around 3pm today, I decided not to get some fish and chips.The lady was rude to begin with and did not show any sign of being polite.Got the fish and chips and drove home to find1. Too much salt (I asked for extra salt and vinegar, not too much.2. The fish was rubbery and possibly uncooked.3. I thought I'd eat it anyway only to find a short goldish colour hair in it.The only thing good here aas that she refunded the money without too much agro.Definitely won't be using this place again.Stay well away

Disappointed vs expectation! Ordered the usual fish and chips but despite any mention of a delay or large order waiting they kept me waiting over 40 mins on a weekday evening. Asked about the delay but no apology or refund offered.Left with no food, refund or a sorry. AVOID!

Told me they didn’t have a knife and fork I could use which I’m disinclined to believe given that they work in a kitchen and are a restaurant. Then seemed slightly annoyed to took an extra cardboard fork. 🤦🏼‍♂️ also forgot to provide the gherkin I had ordered and paid for.

Comfortably the best Chippy in Lewes. It would be better if it opened past 9pm, but whatever time it’s open the fish is cooked to order and the batter is crisp and not too greasy. Oh, and the curry sauce is neither too watery or too gluey. Very fond of this place.

Really enjoyed my large cod and medium chips ,and Cod's roe ,, very large portions ,, very clean and tidy place ,and the staff are happy and very polite , definitely will be going back ,superb 👍

Just been to Lewes fish bar on our first night here. The chips are some of the best fish and chip shop chips we've ever had. The staff were friendly and even ran up the road after us to deliver our forgotten curry sauce!

It's been a while since I ordered fish and chips from them. And thankfully I wasn't disappointed. This week was all about local fish and chip eateries. Once again a complete let down from Southover. More batter than fish. Chips overcooked and greasy. And as for Fisher Street which i was looking forward to trying again after their refurbishment. What an absolute disgrace. They should shut their doors for good. We live on the South Coast. There is no excuse for frozen fish. Newhaven harbour and Shoreham docks bring in fresh fish daily.

Bloody good fish and chips, very fast service despite being incredibly busy when I went. Collection only, which is a bit of a bummer, but it's worth the walk if you're in the area. Would recommend you visit!
