Riverside Brasserie in Lewes

Highly recommend for a private event!We held our drinks/canapés reception at the Brasserie after getting married up the road at the registry office. I cannot express enough how happy we were with Gaz (owner) and the team and the efforts they made to make our day extra special. Especially with all of the issues of trying to plan a wedding during covid restrictions, it was a breath of fresh air that this part of planning went smoothly and they kindly went out of their way to add all of the special touches we wanted.Incredibly helpful, collaborative and easy throughout the planning process, and the service and food on the day were absolutely perfect. The atmosphere at the Riverside Brasserie itself is light and bright, and we were able to decorate, but it didn't need much as the space itself is special.Gaz and team, thanks again for all your efforts and gracious hosting - we'd recommend you to anyone.Lindsay & Andy

We stumbled across this fabulous place this morning - all 5 hungry adults plus 2 toddlers. We didn’t have a booking but were welcomed in nonetheless and the food and service can’t be faulted. The English breakfast was delicious - fresh, beautifully cooked and plentiful. We were even given a colouring book, pens and reading books to keep the small ones happy, and it worked! Thank you so much for a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we will definitely be coming back regularly!

We went for lunch today and each ordered Gormet Burger. Service was a little slow but acceptable.The food was well presented and hot. Sadly my burger was very gristly and rifted up on me for some hours following consumption.I guess we will visit this establishment again although next time avoid the gristle burger!

It looked, and is, light and well located, as in the photos, and the staff are nice. But the kids menu is fishfingers and beans, nuggets and beans etc from frozen (I suspect), not healthy/freshly prepared food. But my real issue was having to eat dessert with all the crockery, empty beer bottles, soup tureen, plates cluttering the table. I asked three times for them to clear so we don’t have the smells and mess cramping us during the dessert. But nothing. That is really really amateurish IMO

Had lunch here with a friend recently. Lovely, bright, airy atmosphere, nice food, good range of choice. Delicious Merry Berry smoothie.

Service and decor were very good, and we were able to charge our phones on the ample power sockets. Unfortunately the food left a little to be desired - our sandwiches were a little soggy and the crisps served with them were soft. It seems most people come for the cooked breakfast which is served all day. Fairly good value.

Lovely place to grab a delicious Brie, bacon and cranberry sandwich with creamy coleslaw on the side. Good strong tea served by a polite, friendly team. Great Covid practice in place. Been here a few times now will keep on visiting. Well done.

Lovely welcoming staff, friendly atmosphere. The food was nice, cream tea and fry up options! You can see the river from the outside seats.Only negative I would say were toilets were a little grim. Could do with being cleaned more often.Really enjoyed our lunch here.

Great place for a light lunch! Very welcoming and spacious, lovely views by the river and lots to choose from extended menu. Highly recommend.
