Road Shack Vegan Diner in Lewes

We went in on a hot Sunday afternoon, no air conditioning unfortunately but temperatures tolerable at a quiet time and is was close to home after a long hot walk.I have used Ask over the years and obviously it's a chain and menu selection is relatively limitedMy partner had the Crayfish pasta which she said was delicious.I opted for the Vegan N'Duja pizza which, to be honest, was exceptional.I am not a vegan, it just sounded nice and exceeded all expectationsThe staff were very friendly and the service was efficient.Better than the bad reviews.

A spontaneous meal out as I had been poorly and wanted spaghetti. The staff were stretched thin but were doing their very best. It didn't stop them from being super friendly and fun. Lee (we think the manager's name) was doing everything he could to keep his staff's spirits up despite set backs. It was lovely to see a team come together. Food was really good and plentiful. Thanks for a lovely evening, guys...and the extra chocolate sauce💜

We made a reservation at this restaurant and when we got there, the guy working at the front (who looked like the manager) told us we were early. We had arrived 6 minutes earlier. When we agreed to wait the 6 minutes, he responded that actually they can’t give us our table because they are too busy.The restaurant ruined our day and our plans on Father’s Day. They had terrible customer service.I would recommend for people to try the other restaurants in Lewes because this one will waste your time and treat you terribly for their own mistakes.

Very friendly staff, the starter "butterfly King prawns" wasn't good, tasteless, compared to the first time . The "Caprina" with goat cheese was good . The restaurant is well located, but there is a lack of personality in their cuisine.

Visited yesterdaySeated no issue however took over 20 minutes for someone to take our order (the scan order thing wasn't working)30 mins later our starters arrived no drinks then they had forgot one of the drinks when they did arriveOnce finished took another half an hour to clear are plates mains arrived 60 minutes later!Never checked on never asked how our food was !Took another 40 minutes to clear our plates by that time we had already decided that we weren't waiting all night for a desert !Personally I don't feel the restaurant was that busy most of the staff were at the bar drinking there drinks. Tables were left dirty for along timeWe got an apology at the end when I pressed no on the card machine as I wasn't leaving a tip !We arrived at 6 and didn't leave due to the wait overall till 9.30 !I am now quite unwell after the visit so I won't be visiting again .

Slowest and worst service ever and the restaurant was half full at 5:30pm. The front of the house manager couldn't remember our order and i think forgot our drinks. They took 20 minutes to arrive. Our food: 1x Garlic Bread, 1x Salad, 1x Calamari took 50 minutes to arrive. Absolutely ridiculous and the worst garlic bread I've ever had, basic butter and semolina everywhere. We will not be back.

Ask Italian Lewes wouldn’t exactly be what I identified as ‘classic italian’. I have had to eat from here several times, but admittedly not in restaurant (would have it packaged and walk down to my hotel with it). The packaging was great and kept the food hot. Unfortunately, it really is just bland and not worth eating. I tried 4 different pastas and they were just not even seasoned with salt and pepper. The garlic tiger prawns were very garlicky and delicious. The calamari was quite good, particularly the aioli that came with it.The service is very quick and all the staff are super friendly and inviting. Not sure I would recommend this restaurant for a dining experience.

The food was great and if you get a corner table you can enjoy the views as well.

Great food and staff. It was a little loud but it was also Saturday evening. We ordered pizza and the service was fast. Good choice of drinks.

Haven’t been here in a while and certainly not since the recent renovations. We were really happy with our meal. The service was very friendly and there were lots of little touches and considerations that you do not normally get at chain restaurants. The menu has some great options and there are extensive drink choices so something for everyone. Best chain restaurant dinner I’ve had in a while. Would happily come again.
