The Hampden Arms in Lewes

The staff were lovely and the food was amazing. I had a 10oz Ribeye and it is in the top 3 steaks of all time and I've eaten herds of steak. The chips, onion rings, salad and sauces were all home made and so nice. Can't wait to go back to this country lane gem.

Moretti beer and outside garden. I would give it 5 stars but the kitchen was closed. Overall, I enjoyed the beer and the view.

First visit for Sunday night supper. Lovely roast lamb with fresh veg. Generous portions and very tasty. A friendly welcome (for dog too). Will definitely return...highly recommend.

Food on the whole good, swordfish steak excellent, calves liver disappointing as too soft for our liking, reasonable prices.

Louise, Constantine, and the bar staff always welcome you with a friendly smile. The regular drinkers are nice people too.Good selection of drinks on offer, and a very popular food menu with plenty to offer at decent prices. A visit is highly recommended.

I had a very filling, perfectly cooked roast, really hit the spot. Staff were really friendly. Great atmosphere.

Excellent, unpretentious and ever-so-friendly pub/restaurant. We went on Good Friday....and thanks to lovely weather sat in their garden, which is HUGE and dog-friendly. The food is mediterranean in style, ample choice and served in a timely and efficient manner. All staff were helpful and very cheery. We had a variety of dishes, including halloumi, avocado and tomato salad, all of which were yummy.

Real traditional country pub, serving some lovely dishes, including a nice selection of fish dishes, and even Chateaubriand!Nice cosy family reunion.

We stopped here for lunch with friends, during the week. We hadn't pre-booked and fortunately a table was available, however, it's a very popular venue. Dogs are allowed both inside and out. There's a spacious car park adjacent to the pub, together with a large garden. We had a variety of mains including scampi and pie, plus drinks. The price per person was roughly £20. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing a good service. The area is very pleasant and there are local walks nearby. A great place to visit.

Hampden Arms, what can I say, love the food, never had a bad or mediocre meal yet, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely regulars, lovely pub.nothing is ever too much trouble, and if your lucky you'll get a "floor show with banter" from the kitchen. Had a take away Burns night super last night and it was superb.
