Excellent Food, to be had here. Its so Pleasing to see Standard Cafes, on the up and up. After a Sad decline, from the early 80s. Some of course have always been in it. For the long haul, this 1. Serving as a Prime example.

Lovely little family run cafe, well known to locals. It was clear when we arrived most were regulars as the atmosphere was warm and relaxed.We enjoyed a sunday roast and the fresh made desserts. Managed pictures of the dessert but the roast was eaten to quickly! Massive menus for the size of the place and very fair pricing.The owners son even came and chatted with us for a bit (see picture) and the food was quick and very tasty. Lots of choice when it came to the roast and trimmings and the desserts were classic comfort food.Learned today that they do take away to collect. Will be considering that the next rainy afternoon.

Food is always well cooked... Always pop in when working down this way.

A really excellent cafeI had the Full Monty, which was fantastic. The bubble & squeak was worthy of a special mention and it's one of my favourite things. Everything was really well cooked and the service was brilliant, despite it being Saturday morning and the cafe being full.Definitely worth a visit.

I've been going here for about 10 years, not been for a good while as last time I went the standards had slipped. I tried it again today and it was the worse breakfast I've ever had.The sausage must have been the cheapest they could pick up.But the mushrooms really made me feel like I should say something.I think they were deep fried in months old oil. They were yellow in colour and dripping in grease.I will never step a foot inside this cafe all the time it's in its current ownership, I assume the man that use to own it has moved on. A shame as this cafe was up there as one of the best... Not its the worse. Good job
