***Changed to 1 star from the lack of empathy and support from management***MANAGER - I am sorry to hear that your bedroom was not the standard you expected?I expected it to be clean, which it was not. Surely clean is expected by anyone staying in a hotel. Previous guests chips on the floor, dust on the walls and skirting, broken dusty lampshade, stained carpet and the shower/bath non slip mat - disgusting.MANAGER - All I hope is that this will not deter you from visiting us again.....I would not stay here again, nor would i recommend to anyone.------------------We booked an early check in and arrived to the hotel which looked straight over the sea. We checked in with the reception staff and went to the room to drop off our cases. We immediately went straight out to meet our friends in the front terrace of the hotel for a drink, love music and sit it in the sun.We arrived back to the hotel around 10:30 and after a long day of travelling and walking we went straight to bed. When we woke up this morning and saw the room in day light, well you will see that the £310 we paid for the room was, well over rated!Previous guests chips on the floor, dust on the walls and skirting, broken dusty lampshade, stained carpet and the shower/bath non slip mat - disgusting. Needless to say I feel cleaner not having a shower.The staff at breakfast were welcoming and friendly, breakfast was lovely.Upon checkout the reception staff asked for our room number, took our keys, said thank you and turned around.Maybe we should have stayed and discussed our stay but had a train to catch to get home.Will upload or send photos!

Had a bit of an issue with room being too warm. Duty manager dealt with it immediately and couldn't have been more helpful. He had my room changed and luggage moved while I was out. The rest of my stay was excellent. Great room view overlooking the beach. Breakfast was above average and all staff welcoming and friendly. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff, in particular the duty manager, are an asset.

Stayed for 2 nights over bank holiday and had a lovely time.The hotel building is very old and charming and you can feel the history seeping out the walls and though if you are critical you could say public areas needed redecorating upstairs it kind of added to the charm.Room was clean and bed very comfortable and breakfast was very good also.Staff super friendly and great location right on the seafront.Will definitely return 👍.

We stayed here for a few days, place is spotless and breakfast selection is such with a wide range.We had few external issues with third a booking company, however the matter has been dealt brilliantly from an excellent duty manager (Bruno) and his helpful staff on duty at that moment taking such care of us with two children.No doubt whatsoever that this is the location to stay in Brighton and area. Well recommended

Worst sleep of my life. Sea view room was way too hot (south facing on sunny day with no air con in the room, felt like a boiler room). Noise from drunken crowds walking the seafront all night, bed was really uncomfortable too. Disappointing because it looks like q ice old fashioned traditional hotel but can’t get the basics right. Wouldn’t stay in a sea view room again, view was nice but not worth it.

Hotel is clean.. staff are welcoming..We booked one night for 280£ including breakfast.. I wouldn’t say it met my expectations.. View is a wow.. however breakfast is less than basic.. room standards is not as expected as well.. basics toiletries were not available..For this price, I wouldn’t really recommend it..

I had an amazing view of the beach. The beds were super comfy. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was yum, staff were super attentive and helpful. Their bar caters to stag and hen dos, so it gets nice and lively on a Saturday.

Just returned after a two night stay here, the room was comfortable, cozy and welcoming although the decor is super outdated. The mattress and pillows were hard so did not have the best night sleep.The hotel was definitely overpriced for the weekend that we stayed here (£400+) however the sea view was so lovely to wake up to. All in all, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Just returned from a 2 night stay. It’s our 4th stay with the hotel and we shall be returning later in the year. Small things that go a long way. The politeness and friendliness of the staff and nothing is too much for them. Breakfast was superb as always. Evening meal was lovely in the restaurant. We had a birthday while we were away and on arrival in our room was a card and a gift which was very thoughtful. Thank you. Great location and the weather was superb. We shall be returning later in the year. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard in making this hotel the success it is. We look forward to our next stay with you.

My partner and I came here on a wowcher deal.I'm very happy with everything.The staff were friendly and attentive.The dinner was lovely, very tasty.Breakfast was also very tasty, self service and clean.The rooms are fine, nothing special but suited us.The reason for the mark down was because of the noise at night within the hotel. The radiators (I think) were very loud. I didn't hear this but my partner is a light sleeper and couldn't sleep.Overall, I'd recommend and stay again but bring earplugs (hotel provide free earplugs) as outside noise can be very loud.
