The Wellington Hotel-Grill in Lewes

What a lovely hotel. We had a balcony sea front room. Listening to the waves breaking sitting on the balcony was so relaxing. The room was lovely and spotless. The food so tasty. We walked down the private steps that led to the beach. The hill at the end of the steps is so steep which was a bit of a challenge and not for everyone but there are other ways to walk to the beach . We would definitely be booking again at some time.

I accidentally stumbled upon the ad of The Wellington Hotel while searching the internet for a weekend escape place.It exceeded my expectations. The hotel is conveniently located in the town center and has fantastic sea views. Every balcony has a table and chairs for visitors to enjoy morning coffee while looking at the sunrise. I enjoyed having a delicious breakfast at their dining patio with a great view. The rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable.The staff is very friendly and works very hard to accommodate its guests. I am incredibly grateful to a very professional receptionist Sophie, who was understanding. She has adjusted my reservation since my trip was affected by the railway strike. Waitress Beth was very friendly, attentive, and professional. She knows Ventnor very well and gave great suggestions for making my stay enjoyable, pleasant, and memorable.

We have just had our honeymoon at the hotel it was amazing especially the staff and Bethan in the breakfast room. Would highly recommend it. And we will definitely be staying there again.

Our stay was amazing. I had a Seaview balcony room so sat out and watched the surf roll in under blue skies. The new owner Andy made sure we were looked after. You could spend the whole day on the deck if the weather's nice. The hotel has been completely renovated and while there are still things to do the overall feel is comfortable, , stylish, relaxing and welcoming. We had tapas style small plates in the evening, local produce. Breakfast was plentiful and good. All in all Ventnor was a little oasis on the south coast and The Wellington the perfect spot to enjoy it.

A lovely location, clean room with a great balcony view. Breakfast was superb and the staff were friendly and helpful. In particular Beth took her work seriously and obviously has a great community spirit, reflected in the approach of the whole team. Highly recommended.

Just got back from a fabulous stay at The Wellington.Perfect location, loved the sea view from our balcony, excellent breakfast(you’ll be spoilt for choices) clean and cozy rooms - the new mattress was amazing slept like a baby.Special shout out to Sophie and the lady at the breakfast (sorry forgot your name x) thank you guys can’t wait to get back!

Just went for an evening talk with tacos but found it to be a lovely place. Excellent balcony with view (bit of a weakness of mine). Very good staff, good drinks selection. Nice food. The bar toilet flushed itself twice which was a little disconcerting but I got over it.

Have just come back from a wonderful weekend at The Wellington!Beautiful decor, a great breakfast, wonderful location and a stunning view from the balcony in our room. Complementary prossecco on arrival was a lovely touch. Highly recommended - far exceeded our expectations.

The staff were nice and helpful. The rooms and hotel decor were clean, warm and spacious with a very Victorian feel. It also has a great view of Ventnor Beach and is close to the town centre. With a great breakfast as well, the Wellington is very good value for money.

Stayed 2 nights over the weekend in early December. The Wellington was warm and cosy with fresh decor and had the lovely scent of spiced pumpkin wafting through the entrance and corridors. The room was spacious and the view from our room was amazing. Everything was clean and well kept and great for the price. Breakfast was 10/10. Great quality and variety. The staff were also very welcoming, enthusiastic, helpful and efficient. Lovely stay, would definitely recommend.
