Deep Blue in Maidstone

Had a great experience the other day. Ordered halloumi bites and a medium cod, really nice, bit too much to eat. Great experience, friendly staff. Was a bit cold in the restaurant, but luckily I was by the heater.

Went here with my partner and ordered chicken nuggets and chips , the food was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful, Hannah on the till was very welcoming

Not great, went for meal with daughter mine was ok but when my daughter's was definitely overcooked instead of light golden batter it was dark she ate most of it and then couldn't get the knife and fork through the rest. Management said that as most of it had been eaten they were unable to offer a refund but could offer a free meal next time. Unfortunately there won't be a next time, my family have been visiting this fish and chip restaurant for over 30 years, my opinion it has gone down hill, sadly run by inefficient staff.

Bag of chips, open, to takeaway. Great chips, plenty of em but not a ridiculous amount, in a really good strong bag too (that didn't leak the vinegar). Very happy.

Went here at the weekend 8th January 2022 ordered 2 standard fish and chips and 1 bartered sausage and chips 1 Fanta and 2 hot chocolate’s first of all it was absolutely freezing and the staff were wearing coats when the food arrived the cod was absolutely disgusting as in it was undercooked and soggy and the chips were also undercooked and dirty looking the battered sausage was also undercooked and soggy, it used to be good in here but I think they have changed there staff also the bill came to £30!!! Which is very overpriced,we ate a few mouthfuls and quickly vacated the premises and definitely will not be returning again

Very good food . I ordered a Southern Fried Chicken Burger that was very tasty and well done . I will definetly recomend and go back .

Delivery on time, food tasty but definitely some sanitary issues there!! There was a fried bug in my chips!! This is simply unacceptable and disgusting, thus I won't be ordering from there again. Maybe I should report it further?

Although it has changed names a few times, this place has been around since before I can even remember. I’ve been coming here ever since I was a young boy (almost 3 decades) and the quality has NEVER failed. I had the large cod and chips, and my sister (vegetarian) had the ‘cheese fry it’ which is sort of a cheese hash brown deep fried. The food is always freshly cooked, the fish is always nice and crispy whilst staying succulent and moist inside, and the chips are absolutely GODLY. My sister loves the ‘fry its’, apparently the best choice for the veggies among us. This is by far the best chippy in Kent, and definitely the best I’ve ever experienced. In terms of seating, it’s quite a petite place so you may have trouble getting a seat if you come at peak lunch hours, but I’ve never actually had a problem as I believe they also have an upstairs section.The prices are very reasonable considering the superior quality and good portions, and the service is friendly and very quick. We only waited about 6-7 minutes for the food to arrive which was perfect.If you’re going to Maidstone and you love a good chippy lunch/tea, there’s no excuse- get down to the Deep Blue!
